Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

I've not been in contact with anyone BUT they aren't to know that so I will drive up to the test centre tomorrow at markusberg carpark on the motorway outside trier and I will tell them the details of my journey etc and if they say I need a test then so be it.
What if I am a citizen of an EU country, but Germany has declared my country a risk area — Can I still enter the country?

Citizens from EU member states and countries in the Schengen Area can enter Germany without restrictions. But here too, the quarantine rules apply to entry from risk areas. This means you must be tested no later than 10 days after arrival if you do not provide proof of a negative PCR genetic test upon arrival. The test is free of charge for all travelers from risk areas. Until a negative test result is obtained, you have to go into quarantine.

I think what you intend is the best course of action for your own peace of mind

This is where they have a test centre ....pretty sure it's the one I passed on route here

Tam. I'm a German speaker and have just checked the info given by the Markusberg Test Station. It's on Markusberg car park, on the A64, direction of Trier.
Opening hours Sat and Sun 10am to 4pm. No mention of closure for holiday.
No appointment necessary. Turn up and wait.
Results normally available within 2 days and notified to you via local health authority.
Those testing positive are prioritised and notified by test station.
Those with negative results then notified so they can end quarantine.
You can have another free test within 5-7 days, if you wish.
Hope this helps, and good luck.

Not sure if I will need to provide an address or not ....will McDonald's carpark suffice ?

I need to be somewhere away from other motorhomers but able to let my dogs out etc and that carpark was huge so probably easy to do that .

I've ran out of chocolate I'll never survive 2 or 3 days

You'll be done in no time - German efficiency.
German efficiency my ass ...they are all standing outside the makeshift shed smoking at the minute ....queue is now out on to hard shoulder

I'm 4 vehicles away but that's just the admin shed ....there must be another bit further up as still big queue past the shed

Tam, you will probably already have done this but worth mentioning...
Use Google translate to give brief details of your journey thus far inc dates. You will be able to show them the translation on your phone through the window??
Good Luck

I don't think they were interested they give a firm to fill in with contact details and another one to get results which I'll need to take a pic of and post up here as I don't understand it ...
Passed the admin but now just waiting for actual test

I'm travelling at the moment, Tam, but I'll keep checking for when you post the form - or I'll pm you my email address and you can send a photo of the form to me, if you wish 👍.

Well that was incredibly unpleasant...I thought the first swab in the back of the throat was bad but then they stick it up your nose ....and I mean right up your nose till you cry lol ....I can still feel something at back of my throat ...really unpleasant.

So I have this form that they said in broken English I get my results from by scanning the small square in bottom right corner

But no idea what the rest of the form says

Afraid I don't get this scanning nonsense, what happens if you ain't got nowt to scan it with.

From schoolboy German... it seems you have to download their version of the NHS Track & trace app.
Corona-warn-app
...and use that to scan the QR code.

This one (possibly)

It's a few years ago now, but when we stayed on the stelplatze (ticket at barrier), between the McDonald's car park and the riverside camp site, we met a British couple who had stayed one night at Maccy D's, then moved onto the aire, as there was a "fair bit of dogging activity" going on in the car park after dark.

Ooh I never saw any of that last night ....I'll be sure to leave the blinds open tonight and use binoculars

Joking aside though the main problem with an Aire is there's lots of other vans and people ....I have to quarantine till I get results but I have dogs and I need to be able to walk them a couple of times a day even if it's only around the carpark or they will get sick ...

So it's better in the carpark although there are two other vans nearby ...most of the time folk don't speak anyway ..

But I'm parked round by the service point this time as hopefully less boyracers

Never mind the binocs, - camera phone required 😉
