Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

Good luck fella, you can't do anymore for your or other peoples safety than what you are doing now.
I think then we can get get back to what this thread is all about (your travels) (y)

What does 'quarantine' in Germany mean?
Just keeping your distance from any & everyone.
Presumably you can keep moving... and buy food (as you can't get it delivered)

Anyway, it's all hypothetical as you'll be negative I'm certain.

I'm pretty sure it will be negative too ....but I think I've to stay here at the address given at time of test.

Tam I would think you have to stay where you are because, I in the slim possibility you test positive for the virus, you would have to quarantine for the 14 days in the same place. But would that be where you are now???? Got my fingers crossed for you anyway.

That's the problem for Motorhomers, is that there are no clear instructions, they're all designed for airports etc.

In Australia, you arrive by whatever means and go into quarantine at a specific hotel for 14 days ( at your expense) no ifs, buts or maybes.

And South Korea ......
It's a long story.

Well if I test positive I'll be going with the conspirators that these baskets gave it to me when testing as I've not been near anyone to catch it lol

Especially as they reckon you're only supposed to stay at home for 7 days if you have symptoms.

It's just a precaution .....I hope

Because 14 days in the one spot would drive me insane ....I'm bored here already

I've spent the last 2 hours looking at motorhomes on mobile.de

Tonight to celebrate Scotland beating Germany at something I decided to cook a traditional Scottish roast dinner ( complete with gravy to appease the gravy demanders from previous offerings). It was fair braw ...and the dogs loved the gravy on their dinner too ...they have swollen bellies

Gravy was a little watery I grant you but did the job ...

It's also why I couldn't have a van without a real oven ...

I would have done a full chicken 🐓 and devoured it with plenty of gravy. And my dogs go nuts when it’s 🐔 tonight night. They start Telling me off while I’m eating as I’m not giving them some fast enough. 😷

I'm afraid a smartphone is becoming essential to modern life. It escapes me as to why anyone wouldn't have one / want one.
...especially as the no-name brands are so cheap.
Computer, communicator & camera in the palm of your hand.

I have one and use it for everything , don't have laptop or PC or anything else, but my point was , why do you have to have one to live in the modern world.
Really must be loads that don't have one.

I understand your dilemma, Tam.

We travelled through France for three week prior to entering Germany. I had carefully followed the Robert Koch Institute data. It listed several naughty regions in France requiring 14 days quarantine in Germany or a negative test, each had an implementation date.

By a mixture of planning, and if I’m honest good luck, we exited Brittany and Central France the day before they turned naughty. We were going to Chamonix but that was already a naughty area so we rerouted through Burgundy and Eastern France to stay “clean”.

As far as I know we had complied with regulations in force at the time so concluded we could cross the Rhine into Germany north of Basel with a clear conscience. We are currently at Speyer and plan to be around Trier by Monday. I guess our routes might cross!

...because it's the modern world!

You can live in the past - but it's difficult.

Electricity, piped water, automobiles...

You could manage without a tractor, but life is easier for you with one [several].

Maybe people don’t want to carry one around all the time so they are not at everyone else’s beck and call. Sometimes it’s nice that nobody can get hold of you. You don’t understand why that’s seen as a good thing? That’s ok but we don’t all want to be available to everyone else all the time.
