Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

Love a Schnitzel. Hands down the best meal I have ever had was veal schnitzel with potatoes and a side of mixed cabbage with small bits of bacon through it. Near Katowice in Poland a month or so ago. I was told the trick is to cook it in pigs fat 🤤

That looks very good I have to say ....

Northernraider ... hold fire for a bit ... we’re just looking at the Robert Koch Institute info and it seems to say only Greater Glasgow and Clyde areas. It has subsequently been updated ... our German teacher at school is checking for updates now ... I’ll let you know.

** Dash looks like they’ve extended to whole country **

It wasnt a hot area till Oct 2nd. You left well before then and these restrictions aren't usually retrospective. I don't think it applies to you.
This is the problem as some say it does and some say it doesn't ...there's a test centre in a carpark off one of the main roads in to trier so I will head up there tomorrow. The telephone number I've found is only in German and appears to be closed weekends but the test centre is not ..

Hopefully if I can get a test and quick results then that will be that ...

The timing kind of sucks as I was right on the border of Luxembourg and Germany yesterday and there was no one about so I was pretty much isolated ...that and the info from the German site that says if not in the risk zone for more than 72 hours etc which technically I wasn't as I only entered Luxembourg on Wednesday and left this morning ....very conflicting info

But I can only drive up there and ask

Very surprised at comments like this. Enough said.
I think people are just confused with the difference in rules ...I have to say with the language barrier it's not easy to navigate.
I'm happy to get tested if need be it's just finding the place and knowing whether to just turn up or not as can't find a number with English speakers etc ...

I can drive up to the test site I've found tomorrow but don't want to get in bother just turning up ..

I'll know more once I drive up there

You left the country before the new regulations.
The Germans let you in...
... I don't see the problem.

If you feel poorly, that's another issue, but until then , don't fret...
You've not broken or even bent any rules here or there...

Not criticising you Tam. Having followed your posts for many years I may not agree with some of your comments, but I know you are an honourable person and will do the right thing. Very easy for some of the commentators sitting at home to tell you to carry on, and basically stuff the rules.

basically stuff the rules.
Pray what rules has he broken... in your opinion?
Seriously.
He had left the country by the time the regulations changed.
And do you seriously have so little regard for the German authorities, that they cannot implement their own rules?

But they were telling him to carry on precisely because he hadn’t broken any rules!

But he was in Scotland, North East England, Belgium & Luxembourg within the last 14 days before entering Germany which is the German ruling.

I don't know what the fines are over there for not abiding by the rules but I wouldn't like to see Tam hit with one because funsters told him to ignore it.

But surely the counter is not retrospective?
Anyway, its all academic. Tam is in Germany, their authorities were happy to let him in.
He didn't try to deceive them.

Was he stopped and checked at the Border by the authorities? or did he just drive into Germany.

It clearly states having been in any of the listed countries 14 days before entry into Germany. I know he hasn't tried to deceive them but unfortunately he has got caught up in their new ruling.

Yes from what I can see that's their current position which pretty much covers every place I've been since leaving home.

I've not been in contact with anyone BUT they aren't to know that so I will drive up to the test centre tomorrow at markusberg carpark on the motorway outside trier and I will tell them the details of my journey etc and if they say I need a test then so be it.

I'm just hoping they give the results quick as I don't want to have to quarantine 14 days as that will really bugger up my schedule .... and might pose a problem with where I have to quarantine etc
But will cross that bridge when I come to it

Sods law ain't it but with the luck I've had lately is it really any surprise

Had I not broken down and returned to Scotland I would have actually left there more than 14 days ago

To be fair I haven't actually passed any authorities so they don't technically know I'm here ...the road I entered from Luxembourg was pretty quiet ...
I've not seen any police etc ....but I did drive past a place on motorway that was signposted for testing but at that time I wasn't aware Scotland had been added and didn't know about Luxembourg etc

I hadn't checked so my mistake really

Anyway guys let's not all argue and fallout over this ....no point in the thread going way off course ...I'll see what happens tomorrow

It's all I can do
