I'm planning to cross in to Germany tomorrow but I've just seen on the Germany thread that they have now placed UK on naughty list ....anyone know if this is going to affect me? I'd really rather not have to quarantine for 14 days on entry
As you don’t use campsites who may ask it shouldn’t be an issue. If you are concerned that you are been underhand get a test in Germany. Personally just show good judgement in mixing with others wear a mask and use alcohol gel.

Feign ignorance...
You'd left the UK prior to this... so you're not coming from UK but from France/Belgium/Luxembourg
My concern is if they ask when I arrived as I've been less than a week from the UK

Yes to be honest apart from the one shop I was in the other day ( mask and hand gel ) I've not been in close contact with anyone

Certainly if I'm stopped and offered a test I'll take one ...

"Travellers entering Germany from a risk area must enter quarantine for 14 days and take a covid-19 test. Northern Ireland and Wales have been designated as high risk areas. Anyone entering Germany from these areas is required to quarantine for 14 days although in most federal states they are released from quarantine following a negative test.
The German Interior Ministry has confirmed that travellers from the UK are not required to demonstrate a valid reason in order to enter Germany. Standard German entry and immigration rules in place before the COVID-19 outbreak apply."
Could be more helpful if it didn't refer first to risk area then to high risk area without explanation. Sloppy drafting I assume.

Photos to follow once I've put kettle on

Tam, I've linked you into another thread but unfortunately Scotland is now on the naughty list in Germany as are some parts of England. If you have been there in the last 14 days you have to isolate or test negative.

Addition of information and advice on COVID-19-related restrictions on entry into Germany from Scotland, North East England, North West England and Yorkshire and the Humber. It just says Scotland. It was updated today, did you enter Germany yesterday?

Entry to Germany
A list of areas currently designated as presenting an increased risk of infection can be found in English on the Robert Koch Institute website.

Travellers entering Germany from a designated risk area must enter quarantine for 14 days and take a COVID-19 test. They are also required to notify the local German health authority in their place of residence/accommodation.

Northern Ireland Scotland, North East England, North West England, Yorkshire and the Humber and Wales have been designated as high risk areas. If you have been in the designated high risk areas in the two weeks prior to their arrival in Germany, you are required to proceed directly to your accommodation and quarantine for 14 days or until you can show evidence of a negative test result. Those who can provide evidence of a negative test taken in a European Union member state or a state with comparable quality standards less than 48 hours prior to arrival may be exempted from the requirement to quarantine. Individual federal states are responsible for the implementation of quarantine regulations and local rules may vary.

The German Interior Ministry has confirmed that travellers from the UK are not required to demonstrate a valid reason in order to enter Germany. Standard German entry and immigration rules in place before the COVID-19 outbreak apply.

No it was first thing this morning I entered ....I passed a testing point off the motorway but as folk had said at that time Scotland wasn't included I didn't go in to it ....
What a pain...I've no idea where it was either and my German is not that great so googling isn't finding me anything

I know folks will go on about being responsible to other people, but he's there now, not going to meet anyone, what's the harm?
No one has stopped him or anything so presume they aren't that bothered.

I don't know ....I mean if I had entered yesterday would it have made any difference?

I've not been in contact with anyone and certainly have no symptoms.

And by looking at the photos Tam posted up does not look like much social distancing and wearing of masks going on.

Yes Germany is the busiest place I've been so far ...there were some wearing masks but the majority were not ...whereas Belgium and Luxembourg were like ghost towns

Services are in the top righthand corner of the car park.

Must admit, I tend to agree with those who are suggesting you keep your head down but if you could get a test from a GP which looks to be fairly easy, it'd put your mind at rest.

Good luck!

We came back from Germany a couple of weeks back and everyone was wearing masks where required. There was no requirement to wear masks outside but everywhere inside even bars and restaurants until seated. Everyone did seem to be obeying the rules.

I think I'll just see if I pass another place with a sign for testing ....the most people I've been near in the last 3 weeks was today in Germany.

Love a Schnitzel. Hands down the best meal I have ever had was veal schnitzel with potatoes and a side of mixed cabbage with small bits of bacon through it. Near Katowice in Poland a month or so ago. I was told the trick is to cook it in pigs fat 🤤
