Well i can only see if she plucks up the courage to let me pet her then see what happens .... otherwise she'll at least get some more food and left where she is.

But she's such a timid wee thing ... probably end up pregnant in no time with a litter of pups otherwise

The dog was at a beach about 10km south of monemvasia ....when she wouldn't come to me the other day we left and came here...i planned to drive back there yesterday or today to see if she's still there and if she comes for food this time. Didn't go yesterday as i was visiting the old town etc but moving again today so I'm going to go back and see if i can see her or not.

Be aware Tam, if she has never had a collar on she may well fight like a demon if you try to put anything around her neck-it's just survival instinct.
I'll be thinking of the pair of you

Have found a hike that goes around the cliffs of monemvasia so going to do that before lunch then go back to see if doggy is there

You can't look after every stray dog in Greece Tam. They are everywhere and always look in good condition and well fed, I think the locals must feed them, when we were there never saw a scraggy one.

I said the same thing myself Lennie but if he has taken a shine to this one and can get hold of her it would be one less producing an everlasting source of unwanted puppies, which has to be good.

I know ...but she just seems so timid and small ...if i can save her from a life of being raped and attacked by bigger dogs and having litters of puppies then I'd like to try .....but i don't think she's here anyway
Most of the other ones ive seen have been happy and streetwise ...she just doesn't look happy being wild

Looks like it was fun.

It was great ...mostly easy walk but a few bits where youre clambering along the rocks hanging on for dear life ...dogs loved it ...jackie not so much ... she's scared of heights but she made it and done well ... only takes about an hour but goes right round the island ....i think going by all the volcanic rock that must have been an active volcano at one time.
Well worth it if you're in this area

Well i waited a few hours but she never came back ....i tried

Im more and more convinced someone dumped her there as i found a chain wrapped round a pole and yogurt pot with old water and a crushed dog food tin

But can't stay there on the off chance she returns so ive moved on just a few miles north of monemvasia

I suppose they might have had thèir reasons and maybe were doing the best they felt able at the time.
Leaving a pet is totally beyond my comprehension but I dont live in tbeir shoes and really must try to be less judgmental, maybe this was the only way of of giving her a chance of life.

Sadly there are a lot of barstewards who get dogs then dump them ... I've seen some horrific pictures of dogs left in Spain etc where they've gone out there way to make them have a long slow painful death ....these people i would pay money to be locked in a room with for just half an hour
