Slide and slam the curse of PVCs

How's about:-
Synchronized Whoosh Banging at next Fun Rally.. We could do it to the Very Load Music Emminating from all the Coach/A Classes's.
Should be Fun. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž
Iโ€™ve got no sense of rythmn so although I would be very good at slamming my door loudly Iโ€™d be out of synch with everyone else so no doubt youโ€™d all be moaning about that!

I cant believe it! So many people that park in a glorified car park in a thin walled vehicle, yet can't abide noise or anyone else parking near them. I think this thread is full of folk that should rent a cottage somewhere quiet.
Provided they find a cottage where you don't have to slam doors!

I feel that after a couple of thousand practise whoosh bangs youโ€™ll get the hang of it. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

A bit like Cpl Jones coming to attention '\

One of my anti-whoosh mods, the handle is near the middle of the door, it does reduce the noisy bit that neighbours are so fond of.

Thats ok most will open and close it again at least 3 times to make sure its closed properly

I just used to almost close the door. Then push the back edge of the door. No noise. Just needs everything lubing.

EDIT... 1812 overture could be a good finale.

See who can close their door the fastest?โ€ฆโ€ฆ..10 times in a row each. :ROFLMAO:

This is getting petty, canโ€™t someone start a thread about geriatric old people and setting off their alarms and looking around to see whoโ€™s vans making the row.
Guilty as charged, i was looking round to see who has set the alarm off and i get a phone call saying my alarm is going off :oops:::bigsmile:

Thereโ€™s only one answerโ€ฆ.

How does one know when the door is not closed properly............when it won't lock!!.
Hence the repeat attempts
Yeah but who locks the door everytime they shut it? ...id say it was more ocd .

The best ones are those who attempt to slam it quietly ...so they do 3 or 4 ever increasing slams . Thats where a push at the rear or a rear internal pull handle would eradicate the problem

But on new vans the units cover half the huge door so you cant pull it in .

Design fault by converters.

Like i said pointless having a big door to cover half it with units . Better to fit a proper door in to start with .

So my takeaway from this (so far) 10 page thread, is that in future, whenever I am parked next to a coach built/Hymer/A Class/whatever, I am to stay awake until it all goes quiet at night, and then repeatedly get in and out of my van ensuring that I slam the door as loud as I can.
So it was you next to me in Spain last October, :giggle:

If its wired correctly it should be muted when the lights are on, if so just put on the sidelights while reversing.
I thought that too but I can only assume mine is wired incorrectly as the lights being on makes no difference and obviously it is at night when I would most like it to be silent. I donโ€™t think my electrical skills would be good enough to try to fix / rewire it.

Mine as well. If you disconnect it will the body computer get upset? Someone suggested superglue on the piezo bit that does the beeping but I havenโ€™t investigated further.

Oh, and during the day, irrespective of whether I need to enter or exit the van whilst sitting outside, repeatedly ensure that at 15 minute intervals (or

) I get up from my book reading or beer/wine drinking, and open and SLAM the door.

As a technician by trade, some people are very slow to realise that arguing with a technician is akin to mud wrestling with a pig - the more you do it, the more the pig enjoys it!
Simply buy an awning

Jeeso thats like military organisation. Is your husband quite so anal or does he jist do as he's told ๐Ÿคฃ
Are your serious or have a memory problem
He asked me to do it! :giggle:

Seriously though, we first started using a list (only a small one) when we had an Autocruise Accent PVC (half dinette up front and twin dinette at the back which made the bed and was left made up. The large storage areas were below the bed so to save having to dismantle the whole bed every time we wanted something and trying to remember which side it was in (double height space) the list came in very useful and saves a lot of messing about. We used a version for our Globecars but as stuff was more accessible it wasn't such a problem as we could get at stuff more easily and not have go rake other bits as much.

When we got our Carthago it was a different ball game with a double floor and loads of storage space, more than we've every had, so on our our first 'test' outing we ended up scouring the lockers etc to find what we wanted which was a nuisance. This meant that for us doing lists has been a good solution as we don't forget stuff and know where to find it which is especially useful if its raining as we know where something is in one of the external lockers so we can go straight to retrieve it and not getting soaked whilst retrieving it.

On a site in Spain now. Sitting quietly in our โ€œWhoosh-bangโ€ shut in for night now and have been pulling it to rather than shutting it. Parked next to us is a large Scandinavian registered coachbuilt. Iโ€™m not sure what they are doing but I think they are practicing for a synchronised locker slamming event with an accompaniment of clonking furniture from within. Never say itโ€™s all to do with the vehicle itโ€™s the people inside it!!!

According to some, that cannot possibly be happening from a Coachbuilt, they're always so quiet, must be the PVC the other side of it!
