Yeah I agree, that's distasteful.they were selling bullets ,helmets etc found on the beaches from the dead soldiers
Even dachau found a way round itYeah I agree, that's distasteful.
Enjoy it’s a stunning place.On to Rocamadour tomorrow….
Night..
I m sure you know but this may be of interest. https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/categories/continental-tours.77/map Just click on a place for some form of blog on it.I have no idea as to where I’m going next but I want to go to Carcasonne but in no hurry whatsoever so if anyone can suggest anything old interesting and architectural culture is good for me, not into big cities but will park outside and go in if there’s something great to see…

If you havent been to Carcasonne then you have to go and (IMO) you then dont have to return. From what I remember it may be a hard day for you on the cobbled tight streets heaving with tourists. Great from the outside.
For Sarlat you may want to consider Grolejac. Its about 11kms into Sarlat on a very smooth voie verte crossing the Dordogne. https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/grolejac-to-sarlat.138/ I m unsure of your range though
Mirepoix is very nice. https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/grolejac-to-sarlat.138/ with a flat short stroll into very nice town (and voie verte but a tad boring to start with)
Enjoy
Did you confirm that there was an alternative to the Apples and Pears?Just arrived at knock on my door….

You wanna borrow a dog?nice drive down today in the lovely warm sun, no diversions or sat-nav dramas…
Had a bit of a walk around to sus the place out for going in or down as it may be because I’m parked at the top.. the castle viewing point had one of those metal caged turnstiles so I couldn’t get in to the viewing points but I did see a ticket machine and something about €15 on it so I may have dodged that one, it was easily rectified by walking up the road a bit…
There is thing like a funicular that goes down in two stages from what I can see and cost €4 or 6 euros each.. I think so we’ll wiz down tomorrow and have a nosey at all the lovely tourist stuff and from the look of it will take about 1/2 hour but I’m sure we’ll get plenty of nice pictures to take…
Here’s a few to get on with, no dogs but I do have a Brazilian….

Don't know what's up with him , let him out at midnight before bed so he's every chance to go but the last week he's been a wee bugger. He's only 6 so can't be his age , think he spends more time mooching outside than doing what he's meant to. I know it's him cause he does poo hengeits obviously a protest movement Tam!
i have to acompany our cockerpoo out at night to ensure he does his bits or he just wanders around sniffing and checking the vegitation!!Don't know what's up with him , let him out at midnight before bed so he's every chance to go but the last week he's been a wee bugger. Yes but it's done to preserve the original cave paintings. Still worth a visit. We stopped off on our way back from Andalusia in the Spring. At least Oradour is not fake like Lascaux caves
