I did wonder why the thermal river was not affected by the recent storms but I guess it was saved from the flows by the dam further up stream…

To witness this when it was in flood must have been horrific especially if you lived along the banks of it, I didn’t see any bad damage to residents but it must have been worrying for them…
I know this will be insignificant to the Valencia floods so what happened here only gives my imagination nightmares to what it was like in Valencia, Mother Nature can’t be stopped and lets nothing get in her way.

These pictures will not do justice to the size and clarity of what happened here, massive chunks of concrete and boulders the size of buses chucked around like pebbles on a beach trees stand no chance and the amount of debris around makes you realise why people are still missing from these awful floods.

I generally have a good imagination and it makes me feel uneasy witnessing the devastation….

That bit was worse just a few days before , when we were there diggers cranes and trucks were clearing debris from just after thar Bridge... the path was closed from that point .

These pictures are only what I could get Cintia to take as I was concentrating on driving and some instances she wouldn’t take pictures as she is not a good passenger at the best of times and she was actually praying at one point along the way, some places she wouldn’t let me stop to take pictures as she said the road could fall…😆 I love these sort of roads and grateful that I have the van now but it was tight in a few places, again the few pictures will not do it justice and these are the better roads..

Ha ha you went the same road as me then . I got some funny looks In the 2 little villages I went through .. reminded me of some tracks in Morocco. Jackie on the other hand backtracked from montenayos and she had easy roads

I guessed that you didn’t walk that far down as you would have surly posted some pictures of it, you probably couldn’t see most of it from where it was closed off…

No we managed to get past the worst bits but I didn't take any photos , Jackie took some though. Just looked a mess to me. Saw lots of damage and hundreds of flood damaged cars on the way out of valencia too.

I’ve shown her videos of these roads already to her Paul… she just thinks the cliffs will fall in or I drive straight of a corner…😆🤣

I think I deliberately go on routes like this for the crack…😎

Spent last night parked outside a camper stop in between El campello and Alicante, no room at the Inn this morning… went to a second one and we waited inside for someone to leave as he said they were, around 2pm I said they would have gone by now so left and went to the last one and they had space for the 3 nights I wanted so parked up and went into the office only for her to say sorry she made a mistake and can only do one night,
But she said we could park in their carpark so I said how much less but she said same price so I said I can go and park in another carpark down the road for nothing so off we go again and now parked up at the beach and now on our own… we wanted the 3 days because we want to go into Alicante for the day tomorrow plus I want to do a few bits on the van but now we’ll just go into town on the tram tomorrow and move on further down the coast…😎

Garry did you try Campello beach parking? It's a gated parking area with all facilities right next to the tram and a street back from the seafront and a nice wee cafe across the road for churros & chocolate sauce 😋

Incidentally the waste ground opposite where some campers usually park is all fenced off and levelled with ground works that look like there’s going to be another camperstop there…

'er indoors wasn't amused at me sliding a little Hyundai hire car round a bend on a gravel road with a sheer drop at the side in the High Atlas.

That area used to be where people parked up waiting for a space in the official parking, stayed there a couple of times and it was just as good as the official parking if you didn't need any facilities,

El-Campello my local ground. Our villa was 5-10 mins away inland. Very quiet in the winter but opposit in the summer. Miss it.
Last time we were there, last year we stayed on Camping Costa Blanca(not recommended.
2 places to eat that are proper good. La Cova over looking the Marina and a Indian on Sant Bartholomew Dawat, best Indian we have had in Spain................several times.
