Run to the sun….

Only a short walk tonight but there was quite a few people about walking and running along the promenade…

Some people that have been here will know about the multi million pound villas along the front owned by the rich and famous for decades…

Some have sold in the past and the 20 story apartments are built on the land which is half the reason why the villas are expensive because you can get a 100 apartments on the same spot as one house…

This is apparently a famous tree in one of them I took tonight…

Some negative news is I dropped my iwatch in the shower room today on the ceramic floor and smashed the screen….🤬

Will try and get it replaced/repaired in Alicante when I’m passing…

Oooh, beautiful, that is just the sort of tree this dryad would live in.. ;)

Went for a walk along the via verda today and managed to get to Oropesa Del Mar (surprised myself) it was fairly quiet but a couple of restaurants were open and quite a few Spanish in one so that’s where we had lunch, a seafood rice thing, Cintia choose most of the food we have as she does understand and speak a fair Spanish.
It was lush as usual as I love a paella type of dish…😋😋

It was dark by the time we got back and we have done a distance of just over 11 miles and my arms are now knackerd..😩

The villa at the front with the famous tree in it was open for some doo or other so I sneaked in and took some pictures..

It was a very warm and faultless blue sky day today…☀️☀️😎

Some of the rocks are covered in wire mesh and there was quite a few material art..?? Where someone has used spring and cloth to weave patterns or writing, there were some weird stuff and whoever did then had patience as it would have taken some time…

This little chap was very friendly and I almost got to pet him, I know he looks like a Rat but I thought of him as a big gerbil as he hopped off like rather then scurrying off….

His name was Ben…..😎

That brought back memories Just smiffy via verde to Oropesa where i almost caused an accident having a panic attack while cycling, somehow the path seemed very narrow and the drop very high, had cycled and walked it in the past. Dsappointed as we had hoped to revisit Oropesa.

All tarmac and seemed quite wide to me, but there are some drops offs to the side…😎

Had no problems with it before it is wide and well maintained, just me. Will be looking into finding another good hypnotherapist. The one i used has retired.

Didn’t do much yesterday or today, walked into town last night for dinner but it turned into a disappointment, most of the restaurants I wanted to go to were shut although on google they said was open…

So went in one we found appealing and ordered drinks, I asked the waiter for a bottle of Mahou (pronounced like a cow sounding like a cat Mou..) and he couldn’t understand, now I’ve never had a problem before in all the years with my pronunciation of it and I pointed to the big sign and asked what is that and he said exactly the same as me, I said I’ll have one of those and a vino blanco. He came back with the bottle and a glass and a bottle of wine and poured the last bit of wine from the bottle turned and put the empty bottle in the bin and went inside the restaurant I thought to get another bottle as there was barely an inch in the glass but he came back out and was taking the order from the next table, I asked him if that was it for the wine and he said yes…

We had the menus and I wanted this pork thing with chips and onions and salad that was pictured on their website that I was looking at from Google reviews he hum and ard and pointed to it on the menu at €25 I said ok but then Cintia asked about the salad with it and he said no, that’s just meat and chips the salad is extra and was €14….

No chance mate give me the bill for the drinks were off… I felt for sure he was trying to rip us (tourists) off..🤬

Couldn’t find anything else suitable so decided to go eat back at the campsite restaurant…

Popped into Lidl on the way back and at the till the woman on it suddenly ran to the entrance door and grappled a bloke with a case of beer to the floor and came back and carried on like nothing happened…😆🤣 why can’t they do that back home…🤔

But thinking on it there was a surprising amount of drunk people around the town and as far as I could tell all Spanish..🤔
Cintia commented that a lot of the people were talking horrible…

Anyway had a lovely big steak chips and salad in the campsite restaurant each and two large wines and two big beers for €51..😎

Leaving tomorrow and will probably go to Montanejos as Tam said it’s nice there then on to Alicante to get a few bits for jobs on the van and hopefully get my watch glass replaced…

Will give Valencia a miss this time…
