Run to the sun….

Popped into Lidl on the way back and at the till the woman on it suddenly ran to the entrance door and grappled a bloke with a case of beer to the floor and came back and carried on like nothing happened…😆🤣 why can’t they do that back home…🤔
Must've been her husband trying to have the lads round whilst she was working!

In an oven….😎😉
OoooOoOooOOOooO .... you'll be for it now when Tam's pooches see you again ... are there any other appendages you can do without I wonder?

So went in one we found appealing and ordered drinks, I asked the waiter for a bottle of Mahou (pronounced like a cow sounding like a cat Mou..) and he couldn’t understand, now I’ve never had a problem before in all the years with my pronunciation of it and I pointed to the big sign and asked what is that and he said exactly the same as me

This happens to me when we go to England 😂😂 Lorraine has to translate by saying the same words 😂😂

Left benicàssim yesterday and went to Montanejos as it looked interesting from Tams Account and he said I could get around easy enough which I could after the very steep hill to get down and back up but it gave me and Cintia a workout…🥵

It was indeed lovely there and the water was supposed to be thermal and although it wasn’t freezing it was not warm at all, I think a thermal water spring just runs into the main river as the water from the font was warm’ish …but there were a few people swimming…🥶 and the associated screaming confirmed it was cold… plenty of fish in there but couldn’t figure out what they were..🤔

These trees, every single one had a massive amount of initial carving on them, I’m surprised they still grow…

Then we came to a point where this thermal river fed by the dam (barrage) not too further away up river was joined by another river and we witnessed utter devastation….😟

I did wonder why the thermal river was not affected by the recent storms but I guess it was saved from the flows by the dam further up stream…

To witness this when it was in flood must have been horrific especially if you lived along the banks of it, I didn’t see any bad damage to residents but it must have been worrying for them…
I know this will be insignificant to the Valencia floods so what happened here only gives my imagination nightmares to what it was like in Valencia, Mother Nature can’t be stopped and lets nothing get in her way.

These pictures will not do justice to the size and clarity of what happened here, massive chunks of concrete and boulders the size of buses chucked around like pebbles on a beach trees stand no chance and the amount of debris around makes you realise why people are still missing from these awful floods.

I generally have a good imagination and it makes me feel uneasy witnessing the devastation….

Then we went through some lovely scenery on our way to the next destination along some short cut I took, however, halfway along the road was closed and then google maps took us along a single road over the mountains where some small avalanches had happened and road subsidence took place and to top it all it looked like there was a recent forest fire…

These pictures are only what I could get Cintia to take as I was concentrating on driving and some instances she wouldn’t take pictures as she is not a good passenger at the best of times and she was actually praying at one point along the way, some places she wouldn’t let me stop to take pictures as she said the road could fall…😆 I love these sort of roads and grateful that I have the van now but it was tight in a few places, again the few pictures will not do it justice and these are the better roads..

Now at Geldo on the free aire with services which specifically states no camping behaviour allowed but obviously the German can’t read Spanish or English…😒

There is excellent free Wi-Fi here which is why I’ve been able to upload all the pictures…👍🏼👍🏼😎

Good walk round there looking at all the street art on the sides of houses.

Great photography Gary. I was skippering a yacht in a severe gale 9 and nature was soo powerful. Didn't like the thought of a full storm after that. It made me realise how trivial we are in the grand scheme of nature. Good luck

How VERY true!

I travelled the Ocean's and been scared many times in another life but it took an Off Piste Ski trip in Switzerland, surrounded by snow covered mountains, stupidly all by myself, that one day, I stood there in the silence and felt about an inch tall!

A large rock could have fallen, flattened me under it and no-one would have known I was there! 🤔

Strangely enough, today I took my Ski's, Boots and Jean Claude Killy one piece down to the Charity Shop! 👍

Looked it up, 9 different species apparently. Some they catch on the fly. Not all bottom huggers (ooer) like the ones in UK.
I saw some in an embalse in Spain years ago, sunbathing on the top, they were huge.
Have you got your gear Garry?

No I haven’t…😏

Fairly long drive down today and parked up near Alicante..

Popped into obramat and I could spend all day in there… it’s b&q on steroids…..😳

I bought a meter of 25mm cable just over €3 and some lugs again €3, I did think about cutting it up and going back into the store and using the crimpers they have for sale but thought it a bit too cheeky so I bought them at €35..😱 I’m sure they’ll come in handy again….😎

I want to replace the cable as I might upgrade the inverter if and when I go lithium and just so there’s no possibility of it getting warm again..

Just an update on the van is it seems to be driving much better on the newish tyres now (maxxis van smart all season) nice and quiet and got 34mpg and just driving like a dreams and purrs along….👍🏼😎

Interesting about the tyres. If they are all season does that mean they will be legal areas requiring the use of winter tyres. Also are they noisier?

They will if they have the 3 peaks markings.

Yes they have the 3 peaks, and yes they are very much quieter then the continentals I took off…

I’ll put some colour coded tape on it Lenny, I was restricted to choice but I should please you that I’m only doing it because of your influence…😎

Well it is only 24° which isn't very warm . But for mountain water at this time of year its a lot warmer than it would be normally.

Jackie was in swimming . For me it was too cold , I enjoyed the 39° thermal springs in Greece and Georgia though . That was comfortable bath temps
