OUR REGRET OF GOING TO THE NEC GOE'S ON,AND GETS WORSE

As previous posts have said, the grammar, phraseology, terminology, punctuation and random use of capitals in not only the OPs posts but also the quoted Burstner letter are at the very least clumsy and surprising for an issue concerning a very highly priced product.
E.g. Dear Sir You are the owner of a Burstner,, ...
Would a manufacturer who has taken the trouble to contact a customer at his home address with bad news write 'Dear Sir' rather than using his name? Wouldn't they know and quote the year and model (VIN) number? If it was a mailshot the casual opening would be understandable, but they can't have (and we haven't heard about) hundreds of customers with that model needing modification.
The opening sentence 'You are the owner of a Burstner....' is clumsy (accusative?) phraseology. I realise it's a German company but a large one, and having worked for a German company in Germany for 4 years (and being a German speaker) it surprises me that their use of basic English is so unnatural for a large Europe-wide company. In my experience German businesses are usually so particular and correct. As another post has said, they have received letters/emails from Burstner Germany in perfect English. Very strange.

Hi All, The letter did have my name ! ! it also had the vin number ! It was also on Bustner headed Paper, and sent in a Burstner headed envelope, And to top it all, I have today received a letter for a recall from Fiat, for a fault with throttle

Why don’t you call Burstner on telephone and discuss problems but make sure it is the Genuine company?

Where has the van been where someone could have got the vin number? A garage workshop? Has anybody done a job on it?

There is too much that doesn't ring true to me. I still think it's fake. IMO :)

Why is a recall from Fiat a problem for you? Follow the instructions on the letter. A Fiat Professional Dealer will correct the fault for free and check there are no other outstanding problems on their system regarding your vehicle.

There is so much RogCar can do and hasn't. Too much of this story doesn't add up. Phone Burstner, E-mail them attach a copy of their letter ask them if its genuine. Whole thing feels like a wind up to me.

Quite.
Shame the OP isn't nearer to nibble our ears 'cos most of us like a bit of passion when we're being f'd about.

Chris said, Good luck with a van over 2 years old !
Read the OP !! ordered 2017 , collected September 2018 ! so only 8 months old this month !!

I know. Sorry

Hi, Like I have said before Burstner phoned my mobile and said to contact timberland which I did, I cannot believe we have so many people who think its a scam, I thought it was at first, but I have sent emails to Burstner, Telephone calls and emails to Timberland, Both say there is a problem ,but Nobody wants to know,

If I'd spent a large amount of money on a van with these problems I think I'd be willing to spend a further few hundred with a solicitor to get the dealer/manufacturer moving. Have you checked your legal position?

I think what happens is you start replying before the full thread had loaded appears there appears be a break before it continues loading. Only happens on a phone.

That is one of the reasons that when out in the MH I connect by tethering the phone and the laptop - then I get normal internet not phone connection and display. Also I am plugged into the hab batteries for charging.

I often do that too but using the laptop does gobble up a lot more data.

Hi, Yes that's what I shall do, take legal advice.
Check all your insurance documents (house, contents etc) to see if you have legal protection cover before you instruct any solicitor. You may well have cover that you don't know about so worth checking.

Good luck.

Haven’t had letter but found out about recall on the fiatcamper website. Booked van in, garage say nothing to worry about, quick fix.

Hi, Its seems to have caused a stir, as I have 2 calls from Burstner, 2 calls from Timberland today, they hope to fix the problem soon,
Errrr, well don't keep us in suspenders........ is it genuine or a hoax?

So, are Timberland saying they now know about the problem/ recall, and are willing to do the work?
A little more information on what is actually happening would be useful to all those you asked to help.

Especially as there is still nothing showing anywhere about Burstner dashboard recalls.

I think we know the answer

I can't work out if this chap is genuine or not
Hardly any information forthcoming even when he says he's heard news

You can't blame people for thinking he is taking the Micky.

"I have had phone calls today and they are fixing it"
Talk about sparse information

Remember what Vivian said on young ones when they went on university challenge

"Give us some easy ones you b......d

:D Scumbag College

For what though, can't see he's got anything out of it.
Sympathy? Upping his post count? Who knows.
If it’s a design fault ( assuming it ever happened), and a genuine recall, I would have thought there would be some corroborating information somewhere else on the internet
But there’s nothing.
So, it’s either a perverse wind up or some sort of scam where a “Burstner” rep turns up with a low loader to take the van away to be “fixed”, via Ireland on false plates.
