NHS App can't show proof of booster jab for covid pass.

One problem being that France will require proof of a third booster vaccination from 15th December for access to hospitality settings, among others.
Yes I know.
I was telling IanRJ how to store his existing proofs of vaccination without having to worry about a an expiry date.
As you know, there is no Welsh nhs app to store the codes on which is why I downloaded onto the French one, for convenience. Otherwise we would have had to log into the Welsh nhs website each time, tricky I’d there’s weak or no 4g.
Proof of booster is an interesting issue which will have to be resolved soon.

The GP surgery has to agree to medical records being available on the app and mine has not agreed.
i don't think they have any rights to deny you having access to your own medical records on the NHS App. They are simply the doctors that have an obligation to help you not the other way around. Ours do a brilliant job as I am sure most do.

That shows you have had both initial doses, so are considered to be "fully vaccinated". It does not relate to a booster jab. And I really would delete that photo ASAP in view of the risk of identity theft.

Yes, we downloaded the Welsh NHS QR code for our recent trip to France and ported it into the “Pass Sanitaire”.
That worked well.

However we are returning to France over the New Year period and our booster jabs (next Monday and Tuesday) will not appear on the QR code under current procedures.

As I have posted elsewhere I have e-mailed my SM and PM drawing this attention to the problem in an attempt to update procedures.

If COVID cases continue to increase in mainland Europe the need to prove you have had a booster may become a requirement for entry.

It appears that the NHS app wasn't configured to enable it to show proof of the booster jab and it therefore is not shown on the covid pass. We have a trip booked to France in December and unless I'm reading this wrong I think that it would mean our vaccine pass will have run out. Apparently the card showing you have had the booster is not sufficient it has to be a Q code. From Dec 15th over 65s without booster jabs (or in the case of UK citizens not able to prove they're jabbed) will not be allowed in numerous French venues, restaurants etc.
Our department of health is monitoring the situation. Well we'll all breath a big sigh of relief there then!!
I'm not sure that the French system is that bothered about booster jabs - we were there three weeks ago and I was impressed by the efficiency of their system and how well it dovetailed with ours. If you have both 'main' jabs, you can download the the French TousAntiCovid app to your 'phone and scan the bar code from your NHS vaccination certificate and "Bob set ton oncle" as they say over there (not). Great to see two countries cooperating for the good of their citizens . . . .

Not too sure what the fuss is all about, we have crossed the border at Calais (Eurotunnel) four times in the last month and no-one has bothered about Covid vaccination documentation, passes, food checks or ANYTHING other than passports,,,,,
But in the future it may be needed,,Best to be prepared.BUSBY.

apparently the App now works and shows your booster

Seems obvious to me that Mr Hancock was way too busy back then when in office to plan ahead... or for that matter pretty much
any other member of the Cabinet to think of anything other than their own interests. Even more recently when the narrative changed to suggest that they were at last on top of things and in control and planning ahead to protect all of their subjects .... they have failed again. Zero ability to actually understand
indepth the things they are messing with. I for one think they are remunerated more than enough with their Westminster salary to be much much much better than most of them are. But hey ho its only ordinary folk that suffer the most. Clearly Mr Cox had zero issue traveling (and quite a few others in Gov) during periods when the vast majority of us were in Lockdown. As ever we'll all end up getting through the fog/mud/whatever pretty much on our own. Again.

I think it may be worse than just no booster being shown on the app - my covid Travel Pass (QR Codes 2 off for jabs 1 and 2) states that they expire on December 13th 2021?

I had no idea that they expired at all.

We will be through the tunnel by 20th Nov in any case and will worry about the renewal of the QR Codes when we are away (Spain mainly).
Think you’ll find if you check today it will show the 14th. It will be the 15th tomorrow and so on.

With regard to the Tous Covid app, i noticed that my qr codes come up as expired with a message that the NHS certificate is now recognised in France, has anyone else experienced the same?

Fortunately the proof of a booster is ( at the moment ) only required for those using shops, cinemas etc..
As we just travel straight through France only stopping for diesel and one night in a layby somewhere, for us ( as said, at the moment )the rule will have no impact
Of course, the Macaroon may get another bee in his bonnet at any time and it will all change again

I think if I was placing a bet on the rules getting tougher or easier when cases are rising quickly I know which is a better bet. As you say at the moment!. As far as Austria are concerned at a time when they are likely to place their own citizens who are not recently and fully vaccinated in isolation they're unlikely to be more lenient with visitors.
I think the government ought to make a version of the app available that shows the third vaccination available at an upgrade cost of £50 to cover the costs. I don't see why the general public need to pay for things so I can go on holiday

This doesn’t take a count of the recent announcement that as from 15th Dec you need to show evidence of your booster if you’re over 65 does it?
Indeed you do . Had ours yesterday and is downloaded straight after onto the app. No booster app is defunct . Checks are now on German and Belgian border .
Interesting chat with the doctor ( you see a doctor before the vaccination and he signs the prescription after checking you are ok ) He said the thoughts here are to do blood checks for antibodies 6 months after the booster and depending on result another booster or not . At least there is a plan !

It does show the booster in the medication section but not when you create a travel pass with the QR code
I don't see a "medication" section. Do you mean the one called "Medicines", I have that but nothing shows there. What a shambles.

I have just been helping Rita with her NHS App, as I wanted to print off the dates of her 3 x jabs. She too does not have access to her medical history, only a summary, and like you, has no access to the dates of vaccinations or immunisations. The App advises that she needs to contact her GP Surgery, to request further access to her detailed medical records.

Maybe you will need to do the same, to gain the needed access.

Good luck,

Jock. :)

Yes, thanks. I did say in an earlier post that I had already filled in a form requesting access to my medical records. It seems I will have to ask again, this time specifying that I would like to see all my records, not just those they decide I should see.

I got the little card after my booster last week.
So did I - and I was the first person at Bath Racecourse to get the Moderna jab! I was expecting a TV camera to be shoved in my face - but the nurses said ‘it’s a big thing, but not THAT big!

People behind me were complaining that they wanted Pfizer and not Moderna - I was going to ask them what expertise they had to know one vaccine from another, but I just said ‘I’m happy to have ANY vaccine’!

I have to say, I had no I’ll effects from the AZ jabs, but have had flu like symptoms after this one. Still more than happy to have had it though.

Thanks carolyn for clarifying the expiry date issue. (y)

Sorry, I must have missed that, due to so many posts on the subject. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

My pleasure Geraldine, Moderna is an mRNA jab just like Pfizer so I don’t know what people are worried about. It’s not licensed in the UK for under 18’s yet and we’re giving a half dose because of an incredibly rare risk of myocarditis. Mind you that mainly affects young men!

We wouldn’t mind some as it doesn’t need to be diluted and you get 20 booster doses out of every vial rather than 6 so a significant time saving as well in a big clinic. Bigger potential for waste though when you’re getting to the end of the day if you’ve just opened one. Glad you’ve had yours though. We’re so lucky.

Must be true, if that's what they said. Fingers crossed.

The expiry date relates only to the QR code, which may need to be updated as international standards are agreed. The QR codes will automatically update when they expire, and anyone using the PDF option via the NHS website will be able to retrieve the new QR Code for use after the expiry date.

The UK Government is contributing to the emerging international standards and the expiry date is only for the QR code, which will be refreshed automatically in the NHS App and on the NHS website when these standards are agreed.
Kind regards,

What happens when the rules change and you need to prove three jabs?

The NHS App must be updated to allow the booster to be shown or, otherwise, the tourist industry will take another major hit.

it is not a million mile journey from requiring three jabs to enter hospitality premises, (France 15th December), to requiring three jabs for entry to the country if their number of cases continues to grow.
