NHS App can't show proof of booster jab for covid pass.

Don't worry, when it takes the Gov. by surprise that other Countries won't let in Brits unless they can show proof of booster jab, then the Gov. will announce that "lessons will be learned". Strange that they never manage to learn the lessons beforehand ain't it ?

i don't think they have any rights to deny you having access to your own medical records on the NHS App. They are simply the doctors that have an obligation to help you not the other way around. Ours do a brilliant job as I am sure most do.
No, they don’t have a right to deny you access BUT it can be delayed as a person/s has to physically go through every bit of your records, this to redact 3rd party and harmful (to you) information. My wife has just retired (6wks ago) after 35yrs as a GP’s practice manager.

I think we should be grateful the UK the Covid Booster program we currently have. It's all a bit haphazard elsewhere in Europe. Evidential issues will get sorted. It shouldn't be difficult difficult to bolt an add on to the current system and make it futureproof.

Yes a significant number of doctors and back u staff choosing now to retire.

Just checked my NHS app and it's got me down for an AZ in February a Phizer in April a Phizer booster in October and an other Phizer at an unknown date. Gawd knows but with 4 jabs I should make it to Spain next month.... might have to leave the wife in Santander.

Interesting. Where in the app did you find all that?

How odd that the NHS app seems to differ so much.

All three (so far) of my covid jabs are listed under 'Acute (short-term) medicines'.
Of course, it could be that it is the person entering the information that is introducing the variation rather than the app. All the app does is provide a record under certain headings but it will be up to the GP or whoever is entering the data to decide which heading to use.

That wont get you into Spain as it doesn't have a QR code.

Augusta08 is extremely lucky then - Johnson is reported to have just said in his press conference:
Michael from Staffordshire asks, with foreign countries increasingly asking for proof of a booster jab, will this be added to the NHS Covid Pass, and, if so, when?

In response, the prime minister says "we will be making plans" to add booster doses to the Covid pass.

That certainly doesn’t sound like it’s currently possible - he’s not generally one for false modesty! But it does suggest the problem is acknowledged.

I had my booster 5 weeks ago and cannot find it on the NHS app. Where did you find yours?
Go to NHS app and then your health records and then immunisations. You do need to make sure you have access, so may need to go to the surgery to arrange this.

After querying this with my GP practice, I received the following reply:

"Hi, I have spoken to our practice manager and the booster vaccine will not show on your NHS app.
Thank you"

Don't know why some people see it and others don't. Who makes these decisions I have no idea.

If you could I would be demanding to know why.......even I can't access my records as I haven't requested it at my surgery.
Actually I have but my request goes unnoticed ....rubbish surgery.
It is possible to get the NHS app without involving your doctor's surgery, I can't remember how but I did it for my BIL I think we used his passport.

I have just asked for my records to be made available - could take up to 8 weeks to show up. acropolis22 , your practice manager is plainly wrong. Suggest you ask someone who actually knows

Well, there are two different aspects to this. Some of my medical records do show up; I requested access some months ago. But the record is not complete in my view. That may take a while to sort out. Having accepted a formal written request from me to have my records made available, I wouldn't have expected they would publish an incomplete set of records. Annoying.

The second issue is the booster jab. I'm not sure that the practice manager is wrong. My jab was not done at the practice. It was done at a vaccination centre. I can well believe that GP practices might refuse to do the work involved in loading up information received from a third party. All a bit of a shambles. I'm not going to stress myself out chasing practice managers until we know what the government decides to do about properly recording boosters with bar codes etc, which will also depend on what other countries start to ask for.

acropolis22 , I would have thought that as you have to confirm your NHS number when you check in for the booster, even though at a vaccination centre, the record should be there somewhere? Probably still floating round the ether. Anyway, once Boris finally makes a decision. We’ll be fine :rofl:

More wonderful forward planning by the sainted NHS.
That's hardly a fair comment. At the point of design and build the government and Department of Health and Social Care didn't have the knowledge that a booster jab would be needed.

True. It should be linked sooner or later. IF Boris ever makes a decision.......

But they've known about the booster programme for some time.

They had been talking about a booster jab for months, indeed, it was always certain that boosters would be needed sooner or later.
Of the many, many apps we all have on our phones and devices there are constant security updates, improvements and extra bits and bobs added.
These take place frequently and without fanfare, except it seems, for apps developed for Government/ official/ NHS use.
Those apps and updates appear to take longer and cost a fortune.
I wonder why?
Does anyone have a sensible answer?

acropolis22. As posted earlier, like yourself Rita couldn't access her full health record on the NHS App, only a summary.
Yesterday she went to the surgery and spoke to a receptionist, who informed her that Rita hadn't yet given permission. With the receptionists help, Rita went back into the App as advised, and found her full health record available there for her to access.
It only took a couple of minutes.

BTW, neither of our boosters were carried out by our surgery, however, both boosters are showing on our Apps. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
