Always the favoured option here as wellSame here any trips into London use to take out rotor arm
Good morning, First thing I did was look outside my window, probably like many others.I have to say I've checked outside the window a few times today to see if the van has just as magically reappeared. Unfortunately it has not!
That’s why I like strikeback and non starter just a pin to disarm the nonstarter and a press of key fob for alarmGood morning, First thing I did was look outside my window, probably like many others.
I imagine that a good night’s sleep was not had in your house.
I have read all the things above that some people do to prevent theft, however ease and practicality of use has to be considered. Your van was your only vehicle, so probably used on a daily basis to go shopping etc, is it really practical to be fitting and taking off clutch plates, steering wheel locks, straps on the doors, removing bits from the engine and so on, I know that I couldn’t manage it. As for remembering an up to 20 sequence of button pushing …., hubby usually doesn’t remember to take the handbrake off.
Our autowatch alarm will have to do, but I do have a camera with an alarm on my phone if it detects movement, however I would probably sleep through it. I think I might change the alarm sound to dog bark as that would wake up our dog .
I've seen Rosie and if she got mad she could, probably, lick them to death! This is such a sad post, not only for Dorwyn but for how worried people are about having their vans stolen. My old van is is on the drive but cannot be seen from my windows sometimes don't see it for days and when in work I am always pleased to see it peeping around the corner as I drive up to the house. Riverbankannie as for waking your dog she would really really terrify the rotters.

….but then she would wake me and I could tell them to “stop that now” in my best teacher’s voice through the camera. Wouldn’t that work?I've seen Rosie and if she got mad she could, probably, lick them to death!

Great gadget MisterBWe have a neos smart cam inside our motorhome, it connects to the home internet (wireless), we get a notification everytime its activated (sound or motion) and records up to 30 seconds at a time in a cloud somewhere .... plugs into a usb socket in the van.
Do you have a link to the vibration alarms you use ?Sorry to hear this.
Did you have any physical security like a steering lock and pedal lock?
I use those and also have 3 cheap vibration alarms I bought from eBay for £15 each. They are stuck to the inside of each door.
If you touch the door handle you get a warning alarm, if you touch it again the sirens go off. As far as I can tell there is no way to get in without making a lot of noise and the van is under my bedroom window.
Possible consolation: If you are insured for market value, you might well get back more than it cost in 2016!

Live in them on their travelling sitesWhat do they do with the stolen motorhomes?
Ring them and sell on or strip them. What do they do with the stolen motorhomes?
We've got a couple of these in the house. Basically cheap and cheerful. Picture quality is good. They are supposed to arm by geofencing but mine rarely do and I never remember to activate manually. However, I would think they would do a good job in a motorhome and left permanently armed. We have a neos smart cam inside our motorhome, it connects to the home internet (wireless), we get a notification everytime its activated (sound or motion) and records up to 30 seconds at a time in a cloud somewhere .... plugs into a usb socket in the van. it only works where it can connect to the internet and wont stop a vehicle being stolen, but it might offer peace of mind - we used to link it to our modem when out and about, great for keeping an eye on the dog if needed and telling it to get off the furniture!, £29 on amazon

We have a fairly new van, it does have an alarm but no tracker. Insurance have never requested one.If you get it back, I would strongly suggest a visit to VanBitz who are only down the road from you.
Get a decent immobiliser, alarm and tracker fitted.
(To be honest, you should have done this the day you bought it, most insurance companies insist on it as a condition to insure the vehicle)
Nothing as yetOne simple measure we take is to block in the m/h with our car whenever it is on the drive.
In addition to Vanbitz alarm, tracker, strap between cab doors and driver seat turned and locked. Don’t think we can do anymore.
Have you heard anything re the Tracker. Dorwyn ?
You don't need to involve a third party - at least, I didn't; just take a pdf copy or screenshot of the listing. Get several examples. For information, I argued it out (and won) over the valuation of a Daihatsu Sirion Rally II - there are only around 50 of them left in the U.K. I foolishly loaned it to my new driver niece; fortunately I made her take out decent insurance because she wrote it off, but I retained ownership. She's still paying an increased insurance premium 4 years later.Alan Kerr are advertising a very similar one on this forum, for £41,299, which is more than I paid for mine. Same age, etc. So I have asked them can they help with the valuation negotiations. Not hear back, only just posted it
Is she more careful now ??You don't need to involve a third party - at least, I didn't; just take a pdf copy or screenshot of the listing. Get several examples. Yes! Now she's in her own car and realises how expensive the consequences of not looking properly before pulling out into traffic can be. Lucky it was only damage to my car and the one she hit, no injuries. Is she more careful now ??
Ring them ??? what does that mean?Ring them and sell on or strip them.
Ideal. I've toyed with a detonation alarm. What I would really like is the remote detonation of the vehicle using explosives via mobile. You find it missing, ring the number, boooooooom, job done.I wonder if a fog bomb alarm would wirk in a motorhome ? If i was clever i could invent one with a percentage of pepper spray added
Change the registration. And/or the chassis numbersRing them ??? what does that mean?
