Mosel Meet.

We are going to Saarburg in a few days time. I noticed there were a few sites and stellplatz there.
Someone we met showed us photos of waterfalls and Little Venice. Is there a place to stay with the MH near or are we going to have to ride or walk(not good at walking though).
Any info appreciated please.

@The Cruisers hope this helps the waterfall is on the Leuk stream ,
but is quite dependant on water levels .

Its not far from stellplatze as on map .

Just outside main town is a summer bobsleigh type run , like a helterskelter , its quite cheap to ride on , and good fun :)

The Mosel meet must be popular. My new neighbours have just rolled up overland from China. It did take him 4 years to get here, but better late than never :).

We are now parked up for the night on an aire by the river at Bogny-sur-Meuse ready to head for Luxembourg in the morning to fuel up on the way to Trier. We plan to have a mooch around Trier on Monday and then slowly work our way down river to find a jump off point for next weekends German round of the WRC (world rally championship)

An absolutely superb night out in the company of funsters. The village winefest is well under way now, and we did try to go through the card but failed at the fifth bottle. We will of course start tomorrow where we finished off.

Have a great time, Hoping we can join you in about 3 weeks time.
Cheers

For those interested in overland expedition vehicles, one of the biggest meets of these vehicles will be help 6km away from Reil at Enkirch between 31 August and 2 September. If anyone is thinking of going to this meet I suggest arriving one week before the start date, as its very popular. We will be leaving Reil for this meet, but quite possibly be returning afterwards.

I prefer the dambusters theme through the PA when entering a stelplatz :D2.

Four countries in one day (y).
Started off in France at what looks to be a fairly new aire which is a couple of hundred yards along from the aire in "All the Aires" which is still there in Bogny-sur-Meuse, up though the hills and forest out of Bogny-sur-Meuse which was barely a road, crossed into Belgium and then into Luxembourg were we fuel up (nearly cocked up by starting to put unleaded in, never ever done that before ) then crossed into Germany and are currently doing a FLT tonight in a carpark at Kockelsberger Weg park just above Trier which is marked on Park4Night app.

Anybody else in Trier at present ?

It looks as though all the Mosel Stellplatze will be pretty full then because of the Enkirch meet.Good job you warned us.
I have friends from Chichester heading there this week and I will be joining them in Reil on the 30th.

I dont think the Enkirch Meet will affect the other (many) stellplatzen
that much :)

I agree but Reil is the nearest one to Enkirch for any overspill.
We were there in June 2012 and stopped at quite a few. Some are a little way from the villages and if you don’t cycle you can be a bit isolated.
My friend’s husband is waiting for a knee replacement so is not very mobile. On the last Mosel trip we were on our way to the Andre Rieu concert in Maastricht which was my 70th birthday present.

We are watching the world go by with a cool beer at Koblenz on the Deutch Eck (spelling???) Lots going on here. Very busy. We crossed from the site on a little boat.
Hoping forecast for tomorrow is wrong. It says thunderstorms here and we wanted to go on the cable car. Hope it runs weekdays.
We decided on the site rather than the stellplatz outside. We hadn't paid but parked the MH in the last space. There was only one place left and as soon as we pulled into it the German couple next door put his shade out, his mat went part way onto our space and his dog on a long lead. We thought rather than have any aggro we’d go onto the site. Lovely big shaded pitch. Ideal. The kids here are having fantastic time. There’s lots for them to do - entertainment and water - what else do they need?!!
All we need is a comfy seat and a beer!!
Staying for two nights then heading back down(or up) to Enkirch just for one night.

Red Dragon is was good to meet you all at Trier. Thanks for your help with the card. I hope you got to Reil and enjoyed the music etc.
It was pleasure to meet you as well, hope you are going ok and enjoying the Mosel.
We are now back in France and dog booked into the vets ready for Wed morning tunnel.

Hi Steve,
Which vet are you going to ?
I know there are a couple of recommendations on here.
I usually go to Mailleraye sur Seine but it will be a bit out of the way after my Mosel trip.
