Morocco 2020

We've got the 1968 one for France and Morocco but Spain have allowed some leeway I think until the end of 2020.

Of course,it all depends on the deal with you know what....................who thinks it'll make motorhoming easier or anything for that matter.......oops......... slap my wrists with a Christmas tree

HELP can anyone recommend a New Years eve location with lively celebrations/fireworks etc around Seville to Algeciras prior to entering Morocc. Preferably within walking or cycling distance many thanks Allen

Sorry I can't help only to say the Spanish don't tend to go out on New Year's Eve until nearly midnight.

If it was us we would go here

10 mins into centre on by bike, 30 mins walk or the bus stop is outside.( No idea about New Year's Eve)

We would go into Jerez in the day. Visit all the Tabancos, watch some free Flamenco, wait til the Tabancos shut for a couple of hours ( about tea time) then go back really not caring to see the New Year in.

It is then an easy 1.5 hour drive to Algeciras

The staff at the above stop will give you all the info.

Hi, Has anyone travelling to Morocco bothered with having any jabs, not the dogs us humans, told the doc i was going and we both got different lists, cant remember what they all were but tetanus, hep A, rabies was mentioned. Bill

We had tetanus and hepatitis when we first went to Maroc 2012/13, didn't have any when we went the second time in 2014/15.
We also paid for Flu jabs as we weren't old enough then for the freebie ones on the NHS.

We've never bothered - even the doctor or nurse haven't pushed it either when we've mentioned where we're off to.

Just be careful is all - apart from rabies you can get pretty much anything else in the UK!

We never bothered Bill but I guess you should check your tetanus is up to date.

Last time I went to Morocco I took loads of stuff that I never used, like wind breaks (has anybody that’s been used one?) Further examples, took fishing gear, fished once didn’t catch (did you?)
Didn't take enough beer although bought some whilst there.

so two questions:-

What did you take last time that you wouldn’t bother taking again?
What didn’t you take last time that you would take this time?

We no longer take bicycles, unless you like off road There s not a lot of chances to use them .

We stock up with beer and wine trying to takes cans and boxes rather than bottles ( btw if you like a G&T etc, a lot of the shops in Gib will sell it in plastic bottles at about half the price you pay here) We also take some pork and bacon. There are increasing numbers of shops that do sell it but few and far between.

Spare wheel a must i would assume.

I am desperately trying to source a cradle in which to carry one for our Sprinter. No one in Spain can help and Mercedes say that they do not offer one. Quite a concern as we plan to travel away from the main points for a while.

You will almost certainly need one for distemper and modafinil. Me old fruit pastel. :dance2:

We didn't take one last time and it was always a worry in the back of my mind.
Taking one this year and practised doing a change so it feels better already

Do you have a tow bar fitted ? If so, get a Thule bike carrier (with rear lights) and strap the wheel to that. Works a treat and has worked for me for several years without any issues.

Not if I am leading the group and only £3000.00 per couple plus expenses and ready to go. You know it makes sense!
I was going to suggest they just supplied you with beer, then I realised with your beer consumption it would be cheaper to pay the £3k. :xrofl:

Just get a spare wheel and chuck it in the back thats all i have done, ever tried to get under a M/H with a rear flat tyre a bit tight i would have thought.

I just take a part worn tyre strapped to the frame under neath the rear end with a couple of pound shop ratchets.
The Moroccans will tackle any job so getting a tyre changed is easily achieved its just having the right tyre avaialable.

Ensure the bolts to attach spare wheel are correct ones. If you have merc alloys and steel spare, they are two different lengths.

OK all, I’ve stopped all over SPAIN but I’m interested in the shorter more direct routes to Algeciras with some decent stopovers on the way, looking For a bit of a change really!

Sort of depends which crossing you re taking. But be careful about going via Madrid this time of year can be very snowy apparently.
We find the quickest route for us is via Burgos, Salamanca, Seville but downside is it can be windy - very windy.

That’s probably the route I’m taking to get to a bit of warmth hopefully.

Saga Insurance and Green Card update...
I called them on Tuesday with the dates of travel and entry port.
Saga phoned today to confirm the Green Card was being posted today.
There was no mention of any cost?.
