Morocco 2016

Forgot to mention - that Maps.me doesnt seem to know that the N12 from Foum zguid to zagora is now tarmac and not piste so quoted 5 + hours not the 4 it took ( definitely could do it faster as well but just went with the flow)

To save me scrolling thru past posts how do you find out how many minutes you have left on a phone only sim please,

Hi Colin & Sandra (and Bill & missus)

If you want a stunning route to Tata on good roads then take the following.

R105 out of Tafraoute
at the junction with the R106, bear right on to R106
on reaching Azgour turn right (no road number) to Ifsfass
then head for Issafn and the R109
at junction with R109 turn right and follow a wide river valley heading for Tata

Ask Dave for more details
And the beauty is its not even on the map, personally think it's one of the must do routes, as Jon says and Lynda @canopus took some stunning photos last year they don't do it justice. looking forward to showing Maggie, will most prob have a walk round Tata and carry on and wild at Tissint, Nice spot eh Ken
Cheers

That's a good road, was a section a few km under repair last year with a detour over piste, the rest was new and you could make good time. Will be over that way in a few weeks after the festival, going to Mhamid. Safe journey guys

Mena and I took this route from Tafrout last year too, stunning views and an easy relaxing drive.

The day before yesterday the road was in pretty good shape, tarmac the whole way but there we re 3 ( I think) places where some flood damage had taken place neccessitateing driving over broken tarmac and loose stones for no more than a few yards

Thanks for urging us to do this route to Tata, you were all correct, it was stunning and an easy enough drive. We are tucked into a nice little campsite called Camping Hayat with a lovely view of the river and the old Burber town. Might stop here a couple of nights to get the washing done etc, especially as the camping fee includes electricity with enough amperage to boil the electric kettle.

Really enjoyed our meal out yesterday and is was especially nice to catch up with with the @makems and @PhilandMena even for such a brief time.

Good morning one and all from Tan-tag-tat- Bugger...........Tafrout !
The ice is melting on the motorhome, great time to clean outside as it's dripping wet and the sun has just rose above the mountains. It's going to be a fabulous day with plenty of sunshine and warmth. Reminds me of last year when we were here with many other Funsters, Terrry, Colin, Simon, Sue, Ken, Byron and others. Great times, great people.
Safe travels.

Very hot here in Tata too, but it did mean I got all the washing and drying done in double quick time. Went shopping in the town and regretted it! I know you have to just go with it when it comes to buying meat, but some of the shops where just minging. Moving on tomorrow, just 70k so not too tiring.

See you in a few days.
Sandra

It is 2 weeks since we laft Tafraout and have stopped at Tata, Foum Zguid, Agdz, Zagora, Merzouga and up to Tinerhir and Todra Gorge. Now in Midelt.

However the location spot on my map apps Mobimap,Google Maps etc steadfastly remains on Tafraout!!!

Is it telling us something??? We did like it there:smiley:

Anybody got the address for carlos?
Are you in Lidl carpark now? With your back to Lidl facing the petrol station, look slightly to your left and you will see another carpark, usually with lots of motorhomes in, walk across that carpark and you will be facing Carlos's office, Voyages de Normandie I think it's called.
