was in Maroc telecom yesterday got new data only sim (threw last years away doh!!!) it's 50dh for the first 10days plus 50dh, gives you 8 gig for first 30days, while I was there I got two 50dh top ups, will use 1 a month (4 gig) he shows you how to top card up as well. Text 555 to the number you scratch of top up card, simples lol
 
30c here in Essaouira. I remember now why we didn't stay too long here last year - the road is so noisy and the local sellers of windscreen wipers have no memory, it doesn't matter how many times you say no they still ask again when they walk by! Lovely run on the beach this morning though so it does have it's good points. We were going into the town today but then remembered we haven't finished our tax returns. :eek::eek:

All French vans here, we are the only Brits.

Hi . thanks for the info Busman. I still have last years sim card (data only) . hope to be able to top it up. Just 2hours into our Portsmouth -Santander crossing. Very rough and still not in the bay of biscay.!!! Hope to meet some funsters along the way.

Now with Mike and Gwen, great to be in there company again and it's hot. Very, very quit here but that will change soon as I've sneaked in , connected up and still not booked in at reception.

Better value is the 100MAD top up which lasts 30 days and gives 12GB. Same process to add the credit.

You are not alone! But we are in Tafraoute. There may be others nearer and they will show up when least expected!

The portugese plates won't belp. We have often suggested to expats to display a discreet GB somewhere on their french/spanish/portugese etc van so folks can bother them.

We will be here for a while if you head this way - otherwise we are going thru Portugal on the journey north so may see you then.

We're at camping sidi kaouki. One we hadnt been to on previous trips, Loving it here.

Jon & Sue in a UK Niesmann pitch 30 theres three other british couples here at moment, all had a bit of a get-together yesterday.

campsite is 90dh/night ( inc elec) or there is guardian next door for 30dh.

Look which reprobate turned up at the gardian parking in Essaouira late last night! He had to park the opposite way to everyone else too! Typical.

Lunch in Tafraout yesterday - 20 Funsters invaded a local hotel

Very hot here in the sun, about 28 deg in the shade but cool at night, so cool that my Spanish propane bottle, which is probably filled with butane, loses so much pressure that the fridge cuts out during the night.

Van tats turned out very nice, although he got a bit worried when everybody cleared off for lunch and he hadn't been paid!

Looks like minigroup moving on tomorrow, probably Tata guardian parking for couple of nights and visit the market there.
 
Some git parked a donkey next to our van last night!! Why do they have to make such a loud ugly noise? Is it legal to shoot a donkey in Morocco??

Come to Tafraoute. The donkeys bray in harmony and wander between the vans at night.
Feed them and they never leave your van - as one couple found out.

It's ok, I got the Moroccan mechanic to move them on in the end! Seemingly you shout Sheee-a Shee-a at them and they go.

Oh Dave you haven't have you?? That's a waste of good money that Mags could have spent at the shoe shops in Tafaroute.
 
Fraid so Sandra, quite happy keeping to the speed limits just missed it on the dual carriageway from Essa to Marakech were it goes 100-80-100.
If you see Maggie hopping round Tafroute you'll no we're still saving for the other shoe :)

Got done 3 day's ago myself big guy! Right official looking berstard too. Asked me where I was from and I said the Wirral. He broke into tears and gave me 500 Dh and said you poor fecker and we think we have it rough!
