Morocco 2016

Hi Keith

As Phil has said you can buy gas, but cannot get your gas-it's refilled. There are a couple of places in Morocco that do it but it would not be worth your while planning your trip around the possible two refill depots. Petrol garages do have GPL pumps out here. The red or blue gas is so cheap out here come with your gas-it's full and then get a local bottle if you need it. To give you an idea - last year we had two full 11kg gas-it's, purchased a local 11kg bottle for outside cooking, keeping the gas-it gas for the hot water and running the fridge. After two and a bit months we had loads of local gas left and about 4 litres of LPG. This year we are out here with the same size gas-it bottles in the van and a small 6kg gas-it for outside cooking. When this runs out we will buy one of the small local bottles for outside cooking.

Booze is available if you know where to look but it is expensive. Having said that the Moroccon wine is very nice and on a par with UK prices.

No idea about the fishing though.
maroc wine and beer wins many eu competitions and as been for years . the best way to buy wine is in the big plastic bottles used to be called saddams. just about every large town sells beer and wine . you just have to look abit harder than usual.

Be with you in a just over a week, going to try Icht from Albaynou

But it is still early - we were here a fotnight earlier than last year and I do think it will fill up through Feb.

Fed the goats for you and have given the old woman some clothes.

See you and Eddie in the summer.

It is not the ginger one that lowers the tone I can assure you. Anyway, how dare you refer to the lovely Mena as the ginger one, even if she is your wife.
It's not hard to tell your married!!!
Looks like your timing for Tag could coincide with our meandering, or we might be there a little before you.
Either way, looking forward to meeting up with y'all again.

Mark, I think the owd berber in the blue frock is sadly in jankers this year .

However, the frock and turban did get an airing over the New Year.

Decided to stop one more day at Ercounte, too hot to drive even if it is only down the road to Ifni:) We are parked on our lonesome at the other end near the gate to the beach, No other Brits here 95% French, Defo pulling out tomorrow and going to Camping El Barco, Tafroute is calling(y)

Dave, there are buses daily to Marrakech from Tafraoute. The ticket office is opposite the Chicken Shack cafe.

Arrived safe and sound at Mustafa's - all ready for a paint face-lift!

Superb. We have arrived in Tiznit. Looking forward to the 'after' pictures.

With Mike and Gwen overlooking the massive lagoon in the Akhfinner national park with several other campers. The views are breathtaking as we are also surrounded by long desert sandunes. Down in the lagoon which has a exposed section when the tide goes out there are a lot on Whimbrel's and a host of smaller waders that I am unable to identify. Yesterday evening we saw a group of Flamingos out on the lagoon and believe it or not at our last camp site there was a Goshawk sitting on a wall.
Directly below us ( we are parked on a cliff) the local fishermen come in and sell there catch directly to us. Yesterday I bought 6 fresh monk fish for 25Dh each and they were still alive when they were gutted and skinned, big fish too. Those of you who have had monkfish know what a great tasting fish this is.
I will go fishing with one of our neighbour's today, an English couple and we shall stay here for a few days before moving further south.
It's mostly wild camping down here with little groups of motorhomes camped up at appropriate places along the coast road. We have seen some beutiful locations on the way down and are starting to see desert terrain now. Having difficulty with getting a good connection so no photos until later on. Everybody sends their regards and we look forward to meeting up with you in the near future.

Thanks Ken I know where you mean (y), just checking as Maggie might nip to London for a few days for a big family do early March, checked flights and they come in at a reasonable 900 mad return which I calculate about £65.

Get the bus Mark, its stops outside Erkounte - its about 10p and then walk down we did.
Hi Ken we are driving down to Ifni today and wanted to know if the road in is suitable for MH for a stop, I remembered you guys all bussed it in last year, thought I could kill two birds per say:unsure:

We actually saw some motorhomes parked on the right as you look down from the coast road, but quite how they got there we weren't sure. As you go down the hill there is a gated complex to the right and we assumed they must have driven through this to get to the spot. Im sure you will find somewhere to park up down the hill to the village from the coast road.

Happy kids after Lynne gave them Carlos' choclate cake from Robert and Phylis.

Can someone from the gang @CherryPirate or @TerryL show them this. Thanks
