Just had a good day round Taghazout. Left Essaouira this morning and had a steady run down buying a jar of black honey from a young lad at the side of the road, then when we stopped for a coffee in the middle of nowhere we were serenaded by a quartet of under 11's. They came armed with a bucket and half a water bottle played with sticks, and a thick plank with a bit of twine between two nails. The group sounded as you would expect but what they lacked in talent they made up for in enthusiasm. Lynne even ended up dancing along!.
We had to give them some cadbury Freddo's and socks and shoes before they would stop!

Landed at Tag and went for a walk along the beach. The whole place is buzzing, just as busy as before. On the old campground they have put a row of nice looking chalets along the front of the road but have not started anything where we used to park. We walked up into it from the beach. Nothing has changed there yet but they are busy all along that coastline.

Second image is at the top of the slope we always came up from the beach and the building is on the left of it.
Last pic shows the signs that have now replaced the 'Welcome to Taghazout' signs.

That was funny Mike, I also told Abdul and his son you used to play with a big rock group, and was a dab hand on the guitar which you always carried with you, Has he hit on you yet ! I think the son maybe seeking you out for a lesson before you leave too.
And to the good news, we are only 21 minutes in font of you and going nowhere for a few days.
Quite like it here, went walk about this morning and just about everything you could need is in this town. We found a open market and once again were impressed with the quality and varity of Moroccan fruit an vegitables. Found the fish market too and we will be eating fresh fish tomorrow.
I also found another campsite, up near the supermarket which look like an old municipal site, small and rundown but certainly cheapest in the town. I went into the new campsite to realize it was 120 Dh for a room. For motorhomes, it's 75 Dh with lecce and cold showers. The pitches are on flat gravel with lines marked out and all behind a walled area, so nothing to see except your neighbour. I still think this item is probably the best of the 4.
There's only one dabhand on guitar Phil, you should know that!! But Mike is very very good, more slow hand than dabhand!! And WTF is a "metal road"?

Life moves on.... there will be somewhere else to stay, near or far from Taghazout..

I reckon it will push a lot of people into trying places they would not usually have tried, and the rest of the population seem to have got over the hiccup.

I will miss it but look forward to ....

dont worry tell them to get stuffed . we did it years ago.
there is loads of places to camp around tagga . we even got the alcieda the sack one year because he rented out the beach front to the mafia in maroc mohamid tabac in tagga never forgot us for it . but the new or later alciaeda knew us.
might have to return just to upset a few of the mafia. cied the chief of police is a crook as well.

Can't find my hair clippers and we have searched the motorhome high and low, there in here somewhere, I'm sure. Anyway spotted a hair trimmer ìn the market at Banna beach, brand new, in a box with a picture of a man with a beard and stating in English head and beard trimmer, adjustable cut depth, rechargable and with built in microprocessor to ensure smooth professional operation. Made in China and cost 50 Dh. Mena used it on my neck hair and it was fine but no way is this going near my now long flowing curly locks. Besides, it's tiny, probably better suited on small furry animals. I'll sell it and make a profit me thinks!

Hi guys
My name is Phil and I have been stalking you all on this and previous Morocco threads;). Lynn, my wife and I are going to set off on 1st March for a couple of weeks skiing in the Alps then will head down to Morocco. I realise most of you will have left by then but due to Lynn's work commitments we couldn't leave sooner. I have just been on the phone to the caravan club to ask for a green card and they (Aviva) want to know where I am going and when I will be there. I did ask if they were a sub branch of MI5 but they said no.....and didn't laugh. Have any of you had this problem? Do any of you insure with Aviva through the CC?

Now I have broken cover you can expect more questions I am sure:)

Enjoy what seems to be another great trip

Phil
