Morocco 2016

Just had my ferry cancelled as well. Never driven down to Spain before. Are there any roads do avoid in a 7m motorhome? Would preference not to pay tolls but need to know if I should go on some of them ?any recommendations which tolls to use and avoid?
Driving to Spain is a doddle. Both France and Spain have great roads, much better than the UK. For France, the route you require is in the link you have copied. I suggest you give it a good read and then come back to me with any further questions. As for Spain, have a look at this link below and again I'll try and answer any questions you have afterwards.

Both these links can be found in the resources section if you need to look for them again.

Thank you for the info. Do you use tolls in Spain to get from the border to Benidorm?

On the tunnel Wednesday morning. Just need to get a route together.

Thank you for the info. Do you use tolls in Spain to get from the border to Benidorm?
No. My total Toll cost from Calais to Beni is €16.00. Look at the about Spain non toll routes. I recommend you take the N-121-A at the Spanish boarder to Pamplona then overnight at Marlofa (Truck Stop) with free dedicated parking for motorhomes. free water, waste dump. Free WiFi in restaurant and showers (€3.0). Then take the A7 non toll motorway down to Beni, or the AP7 which will be quicker but is a Toll road. (Spanish Tolls cheaper than French.

Further to my last , I need to clarify a bit more about that route. From Marlofa you should be able to put Beni in your sat nav, select toll or non toll and the sat nav should do the rest. (mine does) and the Non toll route takes me across and around the ring road of Zaragoza then down the A23 to Valencia and then onto the A7 and down to Beni

The migration begins with gusto.

See you there folks.

Yes, but from the last few posts it looks like to Beni!
(Posted by TerryL who'se just nicked Colin's IPad thingy)

We're at Montguyon just north of Bordeaux in pouring rain, planning next few days.

See you all soon(y)

Yes! This is the one. The dedicated motorhome bays with electrical points have now been removed. However, you can still overnight there and use the free facilities. It's a very large dedicated parking area with plenty of room, even when there are 50 plus lorries on there.

We've got as far as Vitoria, aiming to get other side of Madrid tomorrow. Man flu is at last leaving the van
glad to see you've got through France o/k easy really in't it.Sadly we've no idea when we will be able to start now all depends on social services and how quick they can get Sue's mum out of hospital.

Found a leak in my pipework, fixed it and created another problem, electric flush no longer works on out Thetford toilet. Now resorted to using a plastic jug to flush toilet. Fortunately sink and tap adjacent to Mr Thomas.

Martin I believe Anne & Brian caught the ferry to Santander so France not involved, just the Bay of Biscay. Sorry to hear about Sues Mum

No, they transferred to the tunnel - now one day behind us.

@abforfun you're doing really well, glad Brian's feeling better.

We're on a nice almost new free aire at Puerto Lapice, just off A4 Cordoba autovia about hour and half south of Madrid. Leave A4 at sign for town and keep straight on until you see the signs - it's well signposted. All facils plus pay electric if you need it.
