Good to meet up :-)

Fancy meeting you here as the saying goes - downtown Tazzarine. Wandering Wolves and their friends on the left and Busman and Canopus on the right hand side of the street.

The first time we went to Maroc we tried to get into the campsite there. Plenty of room but the approach road and access gate prevent all but the smallest vans getting in.

Instead, we stayed in the car park of the Moulay Bouazza hotel and ate in their restaurant that evening. It was without doubt, the best meal we have ever eaten in Maroc. Bob & Ellie agreed with our sentiments.

Across the other side of the pool from the restaurant was a bar which served alcohol and some local berber singers/musicians/dancers were performing that evening. It was surprising how many Moroccans were in there having a drink. We had a great meal washed down with a few bottles of Touareg wine.

Terry didn't get your pm . But we have decided not to go to Morocco this time .

We are in Caceres and heading for Portugal

Have a good trip everyone .

Talking to someone yesterday and remarking that the French are missing! Everyone expecting a deluge in Spain and Portugal from all those French that would not now not go to Morocco. But they do not seem to be here. So where are they all? I suspect they're still going to Morocco regardless.

The roads are very quiet as is the aires mostly dutch and brits .
Having said that we nearly got trashed by a frog overtaking and cutting back in like they do .his mirror passed under mine on my side of the white line but he had a quad on a trailer as well ... missed us by about 6ins .

Don't the French tend to migrate after New Year ?? and go back roughly about the time we come out of Morrocco to enjoy the Algarve :-)

We are currently in Meknes it is very hot and sunny 25' police are everywhere. Feels very safe. This is our first time in Morocco so far so good. Looking forward to meeting up with funsters along the way.

Sounds great We'll be down there early January may meet some of you. Doing our own thing but hoping to use terryL's discount with carlos.

Does anyone know the best date to catch the Almond Blossom at Tafroute?

Jon

When we went to Carlos we had to take our mf name sheet. You know the a4 sheet that you print your name on and we got our discount. We paid 200 instead of 230 euro.

We stayed here for a few days earlier this year and loved it. I take it your in the car park with the Guardian next to the Golf course. I would recommend a visit to the underground jail across the road, the Sultans palace just inside the main gateway and a must see is the Sultans stable (12,000 horses). All within walking distance of where you are. Have you got lost in the souk yet! It's a maze to say the least. Also, there are 3 bars which serve alcohol if your interested.

Meknes is one of our favourite places. Friendly people and great location in the city centre. you would pushed to find a safer spot in any country as there is always a car with a couple of plain clothes police parked there and more often than not a couple of uniforms too. Being so close to the Royal Palace means the place is crawling with security.
Love the souk as its totally Moroccan, not dependent on tourists at all.
