Morocco 2015

Now at Moulay Bousselham. Tried the non toll route from near Meknes and it was a disaster, reminded me of the infamous R106 LOL. Still, you learn from these experiences. Next time will definitely use the Toll Road. Saying that, I did manage to purchase a whole load of fresh fruit and vegetables along the way plus Olives, dried dates and 200MAD of fresh lamb that Mena is over the moon about. Four bottles of red and a barrel of Heineken left so have used good discipline on this trip. Will definitely buy more the next time we come over.
We too saw that bridge that was out on the way to Zagora, must have been some force in the river to do that!
Safe Travels.

Saw this Motorhome parked next to us in Safi today....
It's a double deck Neoplan converted by its German owner. It has a bar downstairs and a lounge upstairs with leather settees. He runs a tour business and has a hotel AND CAMPSITE just outside Marrakech.
The campsite looks fab and campers have the use of all the hotel facilities including bar, outdoor AND HEATED INDOOR POOL!
He charges 100Dh/night including electric which makes it cheaper than Le Relais.
Only 12 pitches though so best to book in advance.
Show your Funster badges to get a discount!
All details, coordinates etc on his website Www.marokko-reisen.de
By the way there are peacocks here at the Municipal Campsite in Safi that are very noisy and are doing my head in.

Hi , had a good drive over the Tizi n Test on Friday the 13th ...

We left Taradount at 9 am arrived at the TnT campstop 12.30 .
Stayed over night 60d , hiked up the mountain for the views 7750feet asl,
Took sunset pics and sunrise . Set of for Toubkcal at 8.30 this morning sat in the valley bottom having lunch now after going to the mountain,

Heading for Le Relaise now to do the washing .....

T n T is ok, dont let the DAGS ( doom and gloomers ) put you off .

Team Bus-Pus are now firmly ensconced at Auberge Les Roches Merzouga, with views of the big dunes from our front screens.
Co-ords N31d 5'.52" and W4d 0'.21".
We have prime pitches, hot showers, free wifi for 50 MAD which is about £3.44 per night per van. Three course dinner is 80 MAD per person which is £5.51.

Bumped into Wandering Wolves en route and had a good natter. Dave took some pics and ended up with two young German Back Packers scrounging a lift from Tazzarine to Merzouga. Whilst we drank coffee in Tazzarine the cafe owners brother told us about the Marathon des Sables which is an endurance walk for numpties carrying 12kg rucksacks in 35 degree heat for 12 days at 9 hours per day in the desert and up and down mountains. We were told that there are 200 entrants from the UK. Must be barmy.

Haggers & Lorger - get yer names down for 2016 or 2017 if yer think yer hard enuff:rofl:

Loved being in your company. Safe travels

My last "official" post on the morocco thread.
Left tanger at 1.00pm, only 2 hours after advertised departure! Can't wait to return.
Now at los barrios. Done Lidl, Mercadona and Carrefour. Topped up Yoigo card and stocked up on wine, beer & soberano. Also refilled our supplies with ali oli, tortilla, camenbert, chorizo and pork scratchings.
Snack feast tonight!

Cheers Phil, we still have a couple of bouteilles de vin courtesy of Colin & Sandras beer run from Agadir, plus about 1.5 litres of bacardi still remaining from the original 8 litre contingent procured from Tesco when it was £15 a litre.

Tried and failed :giggle: its a long way up isn't it, got over 3 quarters of the way up and had to stop :-(. Just couldn't make headway in the soft sand even got a little light headed so enough was enough. Glad I had a go tho with Ken Lynda and Jess

Stayed last night at Dar Bouazza no37 in the book.
It's a decent site, good level hard standing pitches, decent facilities (although a bit of bleach in the toilets wouldn't go amiss) and a very cheerful and helpful owner who speaks good English.
75 dh/ night but EHU an extra 25dh (we didn't bother) and showers 15dh (we used our own).
Convenient if you want to catch the bus into Casablanca.
Not too far off the motorway so in my opinion it makes a better overnight stop than Mohammedia if you are heading South down the coast -nicer, cleaner and cheaper and only an extra 30 minutes further.
