Morocco 2015

Great pictures. You can overnight in the centre of meknes. Convenient for the town, as advised by makems.
Really sorry to hear about your mirror. Give gwen a big hug!

No joy with editing ! Will try again after we move to next location. Perhaps we will have a better Maroc Telecom connection.

Can-Bus or Bus-Pus as Lynda suggested we should be known, are now chilling at Les Jardins de Zagora after departing Tata at 09:45 and traversing the newly tarmacced N12 road from Foum Zguid.

Fortunately, we arrived early afternoon just ahead of convoy of German Carthago owners and a couple of desert trucks. Grabbed ourselves adjacent pitches and parked so as to ensure we can't get any numpties compromising our space. Beer o Clock started somewhat earlier than usual and the sun has got his really big hat on today.:coolest::coolest::coolest:

Blowing a real hoolie here at Essaouira but the sun has got his hat on.
Had a walk down town and a wander round the souk before a very long, leisurely lunch at a little restaurant.
Fish soup followed by grilled dorada and fruit salad.
We were the only people in the place which was just as well as the waiter doubled up as the chef! He was trained in the big hotels in Agadir and knows his stuff. Excellent food beautifully presented.
Too stuffed to walk home so we got a taxi for 7dh.

Just back from town ,
We did as Bevmus said and got a horse n carriage tour ,
got him at 70d but gave him the 80d , what he first asked for as , true to his word we got a 1hour tour of the town plus he took us back into town to the main square where we had a 3 course lunch and drinks for 160 d ,

we were stuffed so we walked back through the Berber then the Arabic soukes back to the van , ( petite taxis 10d ) ,
Ha Ha , we Just found out the parking area is 50 mt from the nouvo cemetery and just in front of the Jail house , should be quiet and safe ,!
The other parking near the ramparts has about 40 vans all parked in like only the French sardines can , but there is traffic passing bye all the time,

Taradount has a really laid back feel to it , the locals are helpfull , the town is clean and the Soukies dont hasle you very much .......

Our last full day in Morocco has dawned cool and very damp at Mouley Bossalham. A heavy sea mist is hanging around, spoiling the view and making everything wet. Come on Sun do your stuff.

Off to lunch later with Martin and Sue (Mr Ed) and then it's pack up the van time ready for an early start to the port tomorrow :crying:

We will spend the day in the Algeciras re- stocking and then hot footing it too Granada for a few days skiing. It's going to be a body shock that's for sure!

A huge thank you to all who helped make this trip such a blast. It's had it's ups and downs but definitely more ups thanks to the Maroc Funsters, including the ones who didn't make the trip this year but were always there with help and guidance. Believe me it was surely needed for these two unprepared travellers ( wing it merchants)! :thanks3:

Hi Colin n Sandra , was nice to meet up with you both the few times we did
Have a safe trip home and will catch up in Blighty
Be lucky Taff n Sam

Been in the hotel across the way from Les Jardins for a few scoops, 21 MAD for a 24cl bottle of Flag Bierre. The hotel is full of English with two large support trucks and umpteen rally cars who are on a rally between Ouazarzate, Zagora, Merzouga and back to Ouazarzate. Many of the cars are Suzuki Jimmy's so doubt they're famous rally drivers. Will post pics tomorrow when access is a bit quicker.

Had a look at their web details and now on my radar for next visit. Thanks for the heads up!

Bus-Pus pitched up at Les Jardins de Zagora or should that be Bus-Pass?

The owner Mohamed Akhatar is able to supply alcohol as we discovered last year, and may replenishing this trip too. Stock is low !
