Now at Ait Benhaddou, easy 3 hrs from Taliouine, last 9km down unpaved road which was surfaced and fine to drive down without problem, decided to stop for two coaches that went past though, I would say this place is an absolute must if you are in the vicinity, get your wellies out if your bothered about walking across the river on sandbag stepping stones, Sue did it successfully, only cos I insisted!! But there is a bridge further down through the town which is easier, we came back this way! Staying in the guardian car park for 20 dh per night, page 179 site 114 in the Camping Morocco book. The shop guys are well up for a haggle bought 3 Berber Jackets for 450 + a "free" spice rack. Stopped for a coffee en route by a petrol station, guy gave me what I thought was a macaroon type cake, took a bite, tasted mushrooms, is it a truffle or a mushroom?beware the goofy fellow who follows you everywhere if you do stop here! Pic follows

Not that i would know
Already had a big bite yabbaa dabba do

Nice little Auberge about 1/4 mile further up the road with a swimming pool and log fire in the restaurant. Looks a bit cowd from Sues picture.

Did you go all the way up to the top of the casbah? Looks like middle of winter!

You are what you eat Simon (Pieman).

The Auberge allows camping cars by the way. Its just a bit further up the road on the same side. There are lots of eating places in Ait Ben Haddou.

Although forecast for a poor day, we are lucky as there is no wind and therefore it's pleasant. Now indicating 17.deg in the shade as I write and the Frenches are out with their boules.
Had a smashing lunch with fellow Funsters and some nice Brits who are camped here also and who have bonded with us. (understandable ).

Watch out for the stray dogs, was quietly walking along down one of the back streets when a dog bit marg on the calf for no reason, maybe it smelt Tilly (who was not with us) on her jeans, luckily it didn't draw blood, but it hurt and Marg was quite shocked, she has a bruise and three teeth marks on her leg.

El Ouatia. Bit breezy with a nip in the air:( Drive down was ok, a few sections of roads and bridges still under re-construction
Thanks to the Erkounte Park Four for your splendid company, and the raft of information you bestowed upon us(y) Wishing you the very best on your travels and hope to catch up with you somewhere in the near future.

Went back to hotel this morning as message received that I had not paid my bill (as if!). Got an Interpreter and explained what happened (poor waiter a little overwhelmed with all couples paying for their meals separately and lost count of who had paid, I guess) and so our British reputation continues to remain in tact with the stiff upper lip held in high esteem.

Will have a go but Dave is the Maroc Telecom, International corporate senior specialist technical adviser.
So pay attention as I'm only going to say this once.

1.Put your Maroc data card in your Mifi and switch on.
2.Start your tablet and connect to your MiFi.
3. Open your web browser and type in 191.168.11/small/html/menus.htm.
4. Log in (if you do not know your password try admin admin (default password)
5. enter number on back of recharge card and send to 555. Job done, you will get a return confirmation email and your data card topped up.
6. To check balance send blank txt to 580.

That is all I know folks! If you ask me additional technical questions I guarantee I will be out of my depth.

Assuming you haven't changed it. Once connect you may be on the phone friendly page, if so at the bottom it should say classic site press this and it will take you to the web page for your device. From here you can send sms to 555 for top up or 580 to how much and how long is left."
