Morocco 2015

What a fabulous afternoon we have just had. Went to a restaurant just out of town and the food was the best we have had since coming to Moroc. Then we were all dressed up and and had a right laugh.

The info below is from Colin and looks pretty much the same as just posted by Philip.

For those of you with a huawei Mifi they have a management app. It allows you to send and receive SMS, not just to your network provider but to anyone you want. Also monitors usage for you, security, etc. I run the windows version but I know there is an apple and android version.

As Suggy said earlier, Erkounte Park Four now back in the fold at Tafraoute. Despite an initial skirmish with a Frog who was waving a stick and ranting about his view being impaired we are now pitched up with our thermals on. Most of the Tafroute team were out on the lash at Chez Ibrahims, despite it being the Muslim sabbath, so no doubt we will regroup tomorrow morning. Have had a whisper that the Berber Tent with dejeuner and muzaq is on the cards. Watch this space, inshallah.

Last afternoon and evening at Erkounte Park. Me & Suggy had Pastille Maroccaine which was a first for me and was similar to a pie made of filo pastry and filled with chicken, vegetables, vermicelli, nuts and spices, it was delish. The ladies had Vegetable

Just for the record ,
I had literaly just parked in line between the frog and Dazlin 7 meters away from him ( the van vehind the frog was 3mt away ) he just kept shouting and shouting then started threatening me with a walking staff waving it inches from my head and his face was about a foot off my face ,

i just removed my glasses and said , sorry please speak english ( you can guess the reply ....)
Just then , Ken came over , the frog was still ranting in french even though i told him non parley francaise , Ken heard him say somthing about damaging the van in the night , that is when Ken answered him in french and showed him his fist , at that point mrs frog arrived and dragged him away ,

i moved the van to a position nearer Dazlin but i still do not understand his problem he was not shouting solei as they normally do ..

i think most people know that i am considerate where i park etc so i was a bit suprised by whole event ,
I did mention the event to the guardian he said he would keep a look out during the night just in case .

Can't leave you guys alone for a minute, don't believe for one second that Ken showed his fist, I have it on record that he loves the French and would never do such a thing:ROFLMAO::love::ROFLMAO:

Anyway, follow him when he empties his cassette, if the logs are very large you'll no why he's so uptight! Then charge him and tell him you are renting the space he's just dumped in off the guardian, so he will have to pay or move his plop. Let me know what he says. Do it on Google translate so he understands!

Hi ho welcome to morocco ,

Well our van is still in tact and Suggy doesn't appear to have been fire-bombed during the night, so I guess our Gaulist chum has cooled down. He was deffo ranting about 'camping car ce soir'. I told him 'to do one' or suffer les consequences.

Will have a go but Dave is the Maroc Telecom, International corporate senior specialist technical adviser.
So pay attention as I'm only going to say this once.

1.Put your Maroc data card in your Mifi and switch on.
2.Start your tablet and connect to your MiFi.
3. Open your web browser and type in 191.168.11/small/html/menus.htm.
4. Log in (if you do not know your password try admin admin (default password)
5. enter number on back of recharge card and send to 555. Job done, you will get a return confirmation email and your data card topped up.
6. To check balance send blank txt to 580.

That is all I know folks! If you ask me additional technical questions I guarantee I will be out of my depth.

Just had fresh baked Brioche with sesame seeds delivered to the van by the Guardians wife. She was selling Harrissa Soup last evening which was delicious. Have been told that some sort of savoury pasties will be available this afty.

Can't leave you lot alone anywhere can we?
Anyway we're at Camping Ferdaous in Marrakech after a long haul from Ouarzazate over the pass on Wednesday. For the record it was 5 hours driving time, not helper by a bus demolishing a car almost at the top. It's a very scenic route and the road is a good metalled surface. It's all hairpins and hills which make it so slow.
Went into town last night for a meal in the square - forgot that the mobile restaurants don't set up until dark so tried one of the balcony hotels. Very nice but bit dear to what we've paid elsewhere. Tourist rates we suppose.
Desert detours arrived yesterday so Brits currently outnumber everybody else. £2000!!!!

Wow, £2000 for Morocco! How many are on the tour?

.

Same as the ZTE, we too run via windows:)

Got an additional 180 watts of Solar Panel fitted today. The deal Id agreed with Fouhami Jilali was that he must get me a new Steca PR2020 Charge Controller. True to his word, he turned up this afty and said he would fit a 180 watt panel, change my 10 amp Steca for the new 20 amp (part ex the 10 amp Controller). Teed the new solar panel into the existing panel, thus negating the need for new cabling from the roof to the Controller as the existing cable is about 6mm anyway, and the cost was 3700 Dhirams which equates to £272.

Cheapest Steca PR2020 on eBay is around £130, and 180w solar panels are at least £175+ and Fouhami fitted everything, so Im well chuffed.

Cooked dinner in the Remoska tonight all courtesy of the lovely sunshine.
Had the same kit as you fitted. Have you checked the battery type setting on the controller? default is set to acid not AGM/GEL. To check hold left hand button for 3 seconds and then scroll through. Will either say LI or GEL. you can then set with right hand button. Manual says it can ruin your batteries if not set correct. cheers
