Hi funsters now in Tafroute - gorgeous. left Tiznit on the R104 all the way thru good road although last 20 kms are really a large car width - however luckily not much traffic, took 2 hours now at Camping Tazka - not bad although the whole area did not get back on the leccie until 3.00 this afternoon, weather gorgeous town lovely. Carole and Ken popped in on us at Tagazhout they had a super trip and was really nice to see them again. ttfn

Not been as hot here today - only 24C in the shade.
Had a jam this morning with some of the hotel staff. One had a guitar and another couple with their drums. The lad with the guitar wanted to try mine so I let him. Couldn't get the bloody thing back. I don't blame him though as the strings on his guitar were so far off the fretboard it was almost impossible to play.
He wanted to buy my guitar and asked me how much it cost. When I told him he gulped - I think it was the equivalent of several months wages.
Started getting a bit blowy about 4:00pm and got a bit dusty so we retired to the van.
Toad in the Hole for tea tonight - yum!

Not much about here. I'm told you can buy it around £17.00 for a bottle of wine but not readily available. Best stock up before catching ferry. If you want large boxes of wine (Not Bottles) get them in France, non available in Algecerias.

At Algercerius are there no 5 ltr plastic bottles
red wine at the supermarket at the bottom end of the car park from lidl's..can't recall the name , last January there were lots of 3 or 5 ltrs of very red drinkable wine as other types there

How you folks down there finding the availability of beer and wine?
Reasonable Maroc wine available fron 4.50-5 euros a bottle, good stuff from 9. Spirits (named scotch blends and gins) from 180 MADS. Single malts from 260. Available in Carrefours, seperate dept, in main cities. Uniprix in Agadia and the odd indipendent such as Demitris` supermarket Oswaraztate (spelling? ) Haven't bought any beer but continental largers are about 40 mads a can in resturants.

Its there on sale but you have to look for it. Maroc wine can be quite good!

Our last day at Tagazoute. Had a fantastic experience. Especially want to thank Terry and Colin for bringing us together, from Estapona to here. Just sorry our trip is not to extended as per others for longer stay. Really don't want to leave but family illness forces us to go earlier than planned. However, what a fantastic crowd of Funsters we have met. No wonder this is the best Motor Home club anywhere. Love you all and special thanks to our resident musicians Simon , Graham and Ken on tambourine. Gonna miss such a great crowd of people. Our last night will stay with us for a long time. Thanks for a fantastic send off. Ron & Jeanette.xx

Another fabulous day yesterday. Went into town in the morning so Mena could get a hair cut and we were both happy with the outcome (about £4.00) got 8. 1/2 fresh sardines from the fish man (£1.20) and milk, butter , fruit and veg.(£4.00). Then back for beer/wine o'clock party at this magnificent Ethiopian camp site and to say farewell to 4 Funsters who will be leaving this morning. Brian, Ron and partners. (Have a safe journey) So, out came the guitars and before the night was out we had a few neighbors join us and sing along to Simon's Taghazout blues. Some sexy dancing too. All in all a great afternoon and evening.
I managed to heard some of the Funsters together before they got welded to their seats and as you can see a great bunch of nomads.

We have seen beer and wine in the Carrefours. Bought some Moroccan wine for approx €4.50. Not drank it yet so no idea if it's good or not. I did notice that the European wine was more than you would pay in the UK but not that much. You must have expensive tastes Philip!

The small Carrefore in central Marakech sold booze, as did the big one near Essaouira.
Glad to hear that Colin/Sandra, I have not seen any myself and was just quoting information that had been given to me by another Brit on the campsite. Mind you, I do like quality red wine. Penfolds and Hardy's from Kangaroo land are two of my favorite labels. Let me know how you get on with it!

Questions about Tafroute. Wild camping.
1. Is there a daily water bowser.
2. How do you dispose of cassette contents.
3. Is there a daily visit by bread and fresh produce sellers.
4. Best Wild camping location.
5. Must see/do in around Tafroute.
6. How do you comparer it against TaghazoutTHTANKS in advance, very settled here in Tag and do not want to leave to early.

And t

And they were?
Only asking because there bound to be funsters who aren't with us (shame) who could use the info.
1. Yes. (more or less)
2. Same as here (dedicated emptying spot)
3. yes'ish bread man and very short walk into town where all produce and bits and pieces available.
4. Behind the new university
5. wait until middle of Feb when the almond blossom comes out. Whole area is stunning.
6. Both places worth staying at. If you don't like it you can always return to beach.
There you go. Looks like we will be here for another two weeks or so.......maybe longer if the fresh fish keep coming.

Though Tafroute is a Totally different Moroccan experience to Tagazoute Beach. Tafroute is a pleasant walk into the Town with it's many little shops and restaurants, the doughnut man is not to be missed as you would see by the queue by his stall, it's well worth a visit the Guardian area there is stunning with the Palm Trees and surrounding Mountains that change colour as the sun moves around in the sky.

Get yer sens back up here to Tag - you really didn't stay long enough. You know what they say in East Ardsley, ' tha's nobbut tasted owt yet sithee.'
Nah then namesake, tha's got location wrong, but close ;).
Tags aw reet for a neet or two, but eh, thes more to see in Maroc.
