Morocco 2015

The parking in the town is great for location, but it might be packed. The campsite is useful for a bit of civility lol
Wouldn't take the dog out in the medina, might be too many cats.

Motorhome Fun Ethiopian gang, Taghazout.

This part of the fishing fleet uses solely nets or hand-lining. An old boy explained to me the nets are all piled up here to dry and every fishermen know's exactly where his net is. They had not been out for a week due to the sea state so I was lucky to capture them all in the port at the same time.

Thanks Sue, we got into the parking in the town, it's half empty. Had nice quite nights sleep apart for the early morning call to prayer! It's amazing how quiet it is this close to the centre.

Currently at Camping Aglou Plage west of Tiznit, travelled from Tafraoute on the R104, it was single carriageway for about 20km with evidence that bridges had been washed out, but all have been repaired to a fashion, after Tiffermit the road is well maintained, with a number of deviations from bridge repairs. Even the scheduled bus from Tafraoute to Tiznit is running on this route. Suggest that any reports of roads being closed are treated with a certain amount of scepticism.

With the fuel price steadily coming down in Europe.

How cheap must it be in Maroc?

We were paying between 85 and 90 cents per litre last year.

Shame about Sidi Ifni but there are lots of other places to go.

Jon

Oh no, we have just driven straight past you. We are parked up at the guardian parking at the Koutoubia Minaret, ready for a good explore of Marrakech tomorrow.
We have just arrived at the mosque after a bit of a day.
Woke this morning at Le Relais to hear the fridge alarm going doolally so jumped out of bed to see what the problem was.
Wouldn't work on EHU, wouldn't work on gas, wouldn't work on 12v! Bugger!
Went to reception - is there anywhere in Marrakech who can repair a fridge?
No you have to go to Agadir! (Our friend Mustafa whose name and fame is spread far and wide).
So off we set and get on the motorway.
I rang Mustafa to let him know I was coming.
I rang the dealer who sold us the MH to see if they had any advice. They asked what I had checked and thought it would need new electronics! There is no Dometic agent in Morocco, so no idea how we would get parts if this was the problem!
Posted a thread on Fun asking if anybody had any bright ideas and Jim (may his name be praised) found a relevant thread. Right at the end of the thread were the instructions to PRESS THE RESET BUTTON!
I didn't know we had one but found it, pressed it and hey presto, normal service was resumed!
By this time however we were 2/3 of the way to Agadir, but we turned round and made it back to the guardian parking behind the mosque. Only 300km wasted then!
The good news is that the price at the mosque (80dh) is less than last year which was 100dh. Also you can have EHU for 30dh if required.
All in all a shit day, but at least we will be able to pick up Gwen's relatives as planned tomorrow.

I learnt very early on that when dealing with technical and electrical appliances and equipment, no matter how boring it my seem, RTFM Mike, RTFM was always the best policy!

Next social is the Jalabra party on Saturday afternoon 3 pm hosted by the Funster Beach Bum section at Terry L 's area ....

Thing was Simon it WASNT IN THE EFFING MANUAL!
I did read it front to back but apparently it is for a slightly different model to the one actually installed in the van.
That's what makes the whole thing so galling - I investgated and eliminated all the obvious causes, I checked the manual and I phoned an expert.
And the solution came from MOTORHOMEFUN. yet another example of that £10 per year being the best investment you can make in your Motorhome.

For those with a recent Dometic tower type fridge, the reset button is the light that looks like a warning triangle. Press and hold to reset. Simples!

OH !!!!!

Thats the one think I am missing now... Chips with a big hub cap of bread... !!!
Those guys in the square have got some real patter.. :)

I feel your pain, glad you sorted it though, how else would you keep the wine and beer chilled, rancid meats ok but warm beer!!!
