Arrived in tagazoute which reminds me of my time in an Ethiopian refugee camp. So not for us will be heading first light to tafraoute then the desert. Have fun you funsters. Hope to catch up later if you come East.

Don't quite know whether to be offended or not! :ROFLMAO: Ah well, each to his own.

Safe travelling Eamonn & Tracy, catch up with you sometime.

Nothing personal Terry. Just too many people in too tiny a space.

While the weather is so changeable we have decided to go to Marrakech for a few days. Any Funsters there at the moment? Where does one stop when one goes to Marrakech? No 111 Le Relais de Marrakech looks nice in the book?

I would not go on a site I would park on the aires near Medena in centre of city
I can't find coordenats for it
@Dazzlin @SUGGY @Malcolm Bolt
Hopefully on theses will post them for you we stopped there twice last year
100d per night and its 5 minute walk Into main market area it really is worth doing when we go back next year we will be there for 3 or 4 days
Plus there's a car wash

'Camping Alantica Parc' (y) No vans queuing, No mud, level gravel pitches, 10 amps, absolutely nothing like the 2008/09 photo's in the Camping Morocco guide, why would it be :) as good as many European sites we have stayed at, we were able to get a nice pitch, all amenities here including large swimming pool, At last I can finally wash my undies:D:D:D:cool:

Thanks, I think I have found it - no 108 in the book, looks pretty much dead centre of the city. Would you recommend leaving the dog in the van while we walk round the city?

Although Marrakesh is not to be missed we thought Meknes better, very similar but smaller and easier to explore all the back streets. There is guardian parking right in the middle on the dual carriageway opposite the market. Fantastic city.

No problem just tell guardian they are as good as gold
I would not take dog up town though you have to see it to believe it
When you walk up to top of main open area duck into side streets there is so much more that most people miss it one of our best memory's of our trip

Watch out for pick pockets we never had a problem but it pays to be safe
Don't buy nothing at full price you can always get it down to around half price
Some good restaurants as well try to get one in main square with a upper terrace around 4 pm as market changes over from day to night time with all food stalls coming the change in 30 minutes is a sight to behold
Enjoy wish we where with

An excellent campsite, we stayed there last year and intend to stay again when we are moving back up the coast.

Currently at Le Relais. Look for a van with three weeks of laundry hanging outside!

Yes a very good campsite as long as you like company. It has a capacity of 1100 motorhomes (yes 1,100!) plus mobile homes and bungalows.
One of the best in Morocco, but I preferred the guardian parking at Taghazoute! (y)

We stayed on one in Lido de Jesolo with 2600 pitches, a supermarket with 3 checkout lane.

And it's by no means the biggest site on that peninsular.

We were'nt at Taghazoute long and Im pretty sure that there were Hundreds of MH's in that time we did see some unpleasant French jestures, trouble is if there was several incidents going on at the same moment at Taghazoute the guardians would struggle to contain the situation, has anyone ever actually witnessed the guardians dealing with a situation??

Hi eamonn can you advise what the road condition is, did you go via tiznit, we are now on a camp site between tagahouzt and Banana beach really lovely and will stay settled now for a week or so just to get some winter sunshine, the camp site is Parq Atlantic just about 3 kms or so towards Agadir from the wild camping where the others are. Give our regards to carole, ken and tracey. ttfn Pauline & Larry

Hi P &L We are at camping taznat co ords N29.7152482* W8.9866066*. The * means degrees. We came up on the R105 from the direction of Agadir. There is a 30Km detour coming from the north which happily took you through some great scenery. (y)The journey from Tagazoute took five hours. But an hour of that was going through Agadir. The drive is fantastic, better than that, freaking marvellous. The road is fine, some bits are single track but we have found the locals respect the conditions. And when you get here, wowzer. Think U2 Red Rock concert. Some German

So what you are saying is you have gone " Down " the 105 from North to South past Ait - Baha ( The Famous Kasbah on the Hill ) to Tafroute :coolest:

Try the Chicken shack opposite the bus station , excellent quisine and ambience .

Hope you enjoy Tafroute make sure you wild it at painted rocks and visit the Berber Village ,

Will do Suggy. Thanks for tips. Yep we came from camp Ebola aka tagaroute to trafaroute via ait baha. There is a detour shortly after that. But that is a plus point. Not for the faint hearted and make sure your brakes work.

Graham - Im sure they wouldnt like the Blue Rocks as there is no electric available plus the packs of wild dogs that we had to contend with last year should be mentioned. Notwithstanding the total abstinence of any form of street lighting for miles around may make many feel insecure.

We did the 105 last year when it was being rebuilt after lanslides etc , with Ken and Linda ( canopus ) the outer of his twin wheels were hanging over the edge of the drop off on the road in many places ,

The new 105 road is much better now . Last time we went to Tafroute was to the music festival , we didnt set of until 6pm and got there at 10pm , very little traffic at that time in the dark ,
