Morocco 2015

Perfectly fine by me Dave, it's @TerryL that is coordinating campsite and crossing. He is travelling at the moment but I am sure he will confirm as soon as he sees this.

Look forward to seeing you again Dave and good luck with the repairs.

Filled up both bottles of LPG at Los Barrios this morning..Crossed over 10am. Had to leave dog in the van? not in cage as website state. Went to passport control for number and stamp. Crossing took hour and half. Passport checked as you depart followed exit to Customs they took passports and documentation brought it back and we were on the road after roughly 20 mins!! :)Picked up the A4 stopped at first Services and filled up with diesel .63p a litre(y) then onto A1 to Asilah. Parked at North end of promenade 40d a night quite a few other vans that were on the morning sailing here? Got data sim for wei @ Maroc Telecom (closed between 1 and 2.30) 59d for 4g 10 days.. can then top up 100d for 8g 1 month. Staying here tonight.. Moulay Bousselham tomorrow. Plus of the day (y) it being hastle free at Algerciras customs

Good luck with the repairs at Autoglazio Dave :) Looking forward to meeting you and other funsters soon

Dave

@Armytwowheels Yes, Colin & Sandra look forward to seeing you. Did you get any skiing in?

@Busman Glad you're sorted Dave, I was just about to invite you last night when I lost internet and you're very welcome. You've got all the details I presume, I'll get your personal details when I see you (just to keep Carlos happy)

We're currently at an ACSI at Santa Elena, slowly making our way south after getting gassed up at Madrid. We are aiming for an aire a little way east of Estepona tomorrow and expect to be at Parque Tropical immediately after lunch.

For anyone with a walkie talkie we're on Channel 5, sub-channel 10. Use forum name as call-sign.

TerryL (just to avoid confusion with Terry!)

Update ...Herman the obnoxious german ...
put a sign up today , saying ...

SOD OFF AND GO AWAY

we were going to move anyway, so we did and are now parked up near Dazlin and a few UK vans and a really great German couple who are really pleased to have us as neighbours as they had hassle from some dutch 4x4 overlanders,
But the best bit is ....
a large French van with a huge trailer with 4x4 has parked where we were and has totally taken over the area completely in front of Herman

Loving Suggys reports. We only got 3 days skiing in Terry then the snow melted.
We are well past Barcelona on a lovely sunny day on excellent roads - life is good.

Hi we are top right viewed from the sea. There are a few uk regs up here . Ours is the fendt on the side of the road with MHF in the window. Lol.

I wonder how many French will be in Morocco this season ?

Now sat at a very windy but sunny Merzouga (Auberge Camping La Tradition). We visited a number of sites in the area before deciding on this one and it is spookily very quiet, the only other MH we have seen here is one German Van and he was on another site. To be honest we have seen very few other vans (French or otherwise) whilst travelling down the east side of Morroco, can only assume that the sites along the coast are full to bursting, or what has been suggested, they are staying away. The owner of this site seems to think that it will start to get busier next week, but that could also be wishful thinking. Plan to start tracking back west tomorrow, towards Ouarzazate.

According to a tour guide there are 70% less french . Thats still too many though. There are a lot more germans and italians than we have seen before .

Still very quiet here in Tagazoute 140 vans yesterday and a lot have moved away today . It has been windy and overcast here today. 21c at the moment.wind has dropped at last .

The are a lot less apparently. Hollande did issue a travel alert acoording to one I spoke to in the autumn. Withdrew it ironically just before Christmas but it seems a lot of French had already made up theit minds.

We are stuck in a Fiat garage compound for the weekend. After a heart stopping 20k tow from breakdown point to garage, they cannot work on it until Monday. Not happy bunnies but not a lot we can do about it. @TerryL Don't think we are going to make the pre-crossing meet. Will keep everything crossed for making the crossing on 15th. Colin thinks it is either the turbo gone or a fuel injector.

Sorry to learn of your troubles - if it's any consolation we broke down on our first day last year and ended up in a compound until it was fixed. Don't worry about the arrangements, if you make it you make it. If not we'll do what we can to help - don't think you're going to get out of it after all you've been through to get here.:p

Keep us posted.

Holed up in Moulay Besselham (Camping International) gonna stay here two days to get washing done then amble down the coast.. I will look through my notes from 2014 trip for suggestions
Does anyone have the contact for the Jack of all Trades geezer in Agadir?
Had an accident in Portugal and hoping your man can sort it?

Hi Terry,

We arrived here at Estapona at 4 pm. Left Albir / Benidorm at 9 am and apart for a stop for coffee in The Sierra Nevarda it was a beautiful drive. It seems we are the only ones here at mo. Must advise that the internet is rubbish. I have been to office (seems a nice man ) he said he would adjust the antenna immediately but it is still as bad and it seems there isn't anything he can do. Now we are getting a slow signal by putting up wi fi aerial we bought from that young guy who invented it and sells at Malvern Show. It has been a useful tool but hit and miss depending on where you are.
