Morocco 2015

Keep a eye on weather it's not too good in Alps a moment :Eeek:
Bbc news this morning

Thanks, we are just catching up on the weather news as we drive. Not due to be there for another 2 days so hopefully they will have the roads sorted by then. We have winter tyres and snow chains, boing to practice putting them on at tonight's stop.

It is a lovely sunny day as we head towards Reims.

re: pre-crossing campsites

Bella Vista finally have come back to me and want €26 per night. I think that's too much, as well as the tightness of some of the pitches we were allocated last year. So I've booked 8 places at Parque Tropical, nr Estepona. €14 with ACSI card, otherwise €16.70 (I'll try and twist their arms when I get there; I'm planning to arrive 10th January) I've also asked for 4 larger pitches for those taking their gin palaces......

Winter tyres, snow chains, how bad is it over there! Got none of that gear?

I thought Dazzlin had managed to get the old deal?
Paid 100dh for a month. Don't know the data allowance but spent a couple of hours skyping xmas day and read the entire maroc 2014 thread.

Thanks Terry, we'll see you there on the 10th

So is it correct that if we haven't changed or renewed passports, then we will keep the same CIN number from our last visit?

@canopus I believe so,

Its not too good in bloody Grantham Pete at the moment, never mind the Alps:xrofl:. Took me 2.5 hours to do 18 miles on the A1 yesterday. Never saw any signs of an accident:eek:

Travelling down to Mums at Navenby tomorrow (Monday) any idea what roads are like there?

I thought Bella vista was acsi, euros 18 a night, tops?

Not as far as I can see, it ain't in the new book. It might be an ACSI inspected site, there are thousands of them, but you don't get a discount at them.

Main roads seem ok Tel just icy on some side roads. We've been out to Harlaxton at lunch time and traffic running ok down A1

inwi and meditel not so good off the beaten track but they are still doing the unlimited 3g for now

Well, Motorhome sailed through it's 35 point check today. Tyres, brakes, lights, oil water etc, all good.
Looking forward to our departure next week.

Yes, there are a couple of others but their coverage is not as good as Maroc Telecom - think @tonka may know more - he's the expert:whistle:

Expert !!! LOL.
Ken has listed the mains one's that I know of. Maroc Telecom was recommended by Addy /Motorhome wifi before our 2103 trip and it certainly worked good on our 2 trips in 2013 and 2014.. I had coverage everywhere and it was unlimited. We could facetime on the ipad with good video connection. Packages can always change so I guess it's a case of get there and see whats available or the "front runners" report in to the others on what they have obtained...

the new case of the poor Ebola victim who's now in the specialist hospital in London stopped over/changed flights ? at Casablanca.. the question is was she already infected with the Ebola virus???????

Don't quite see the point of this question because obviously she was infected. Perhaps you mean 'was she contagious' when she changed flights and the answer is perhaps ! Depends if any of the symptoms were showing whilst she was flying.

Thanks guys.
Pitched up at Canping Auberge Atlas for today.
I think we will drive up Todra a bit further tomorrow then return to the main rd the west to Dades, up and down. Lynne gets nervous with my driving (very sedate) on decent roads - saw one a few days back.
Green route shown on michelin map all the way round but perhaps not for 4 ton vehicles!
thanks again.

@Dazzlin, we stayed there for a couple of nights after returning from Mhamid, where we got caught in a sandstorm. Took the opportunity to give the MH a good clean, inside and out, that said we still find traces of Moroccan dust hiding in the MH.

@andeb, Exchanged ours a couple of months ago complete with gold dust from last winters foray and got a good rate too! 'vive la Maroc'

Arnie and Carol - How are you keeping? Are you venturing over there this winter? Would be lovely to see you both again. You were a source of inspiration to many of us last time.

Ken & Lynda - 'how do get Canopus from Ken & Lynda':xrofl:

Are there any of the French MH fraternity in Morocco? We are currently wild camping at La Cala de Mijas pulling together all our final purchases (read wine and beer) looks like the French are stacking here to assault Morocco in force :xsad:

Graham... Is there an overall allowance for the month or a daily allowance once exceeded your speed drops back as last year. When do you plan to get to Tagazhoute. Will you try and let us know your position in relation to last year or will you be flying the flag literally.

Thanks and see you and Rosie soon
