Morocco 2015

Right, I have my head around it now, all will depend on me getting and appointment tomorrow for dog to have test and then it will be down to the wire as to whether it comes back in time. Wish I had thought about this sooner, or read the whole thread earlier!

Good luck.... My wife would have had me castrated if we had issues getting back either into Spain or the UK. Luckily everything went well

Blimey, I wouldn't go that far..... On second thoughts!

If there is any doubt then we will re-route and spend more time in Spain and Portugal, there is no way I will be leaving my little dog in solitary confinement.

I fear the Christmas silly season may interfere with the tests coming back in time. We leave the UK on 27th Dec so we might be lucky.

Delay your departure

We can't as we are booked in (and paid for) a weeks skiing in the French Alps from 30th Dec. the plan was to potter down through France and Spain and cross to Morocco for a few weeks. Then Back to Spain for the Fun meet.

If we have to miss Morocco we can explore Portugal but I am going to do my damnedest to get everything in order to get to Morocco. We have been so wrapped up getting these houses done and rented out so we do all this travelling, we haven't spared much time to think and plan the travelling it's self.

When are you travelling to Morocco Souix?
I'm an early bird, just having first cup of tea and catching up on MHF.
We are hopefully, god willing and the creek don't rise, joining up with the group going on Jan 15th
When are you going? We are going to Portsmouth this Monday and catching the 11am ferry on tuesday to santander then meandering to portugal before going for 'the Morocco meet up'

What does the list look like for the Morocco trip now and do we need to book a campsite in Morocco?

No point in booking campsites, as when we went, what was decided the night before changed the following morning. And one campsite was so bad, we didn't drive in. Grass growing through the showers lol

:) As Sue says, just go with the flow... The word "Campsite" in Morocco is used very loosely.. !!!
It's all part of the adventure...

I suppose it's like a French chap joining Fun and expecting the forums to be in French?

try using google chrome with automatic translation, the question has to be answered in french e.g ce jour est aujourd'hui answer vendredi

OK Set automatic translation in advanced settings but it's not changing French into English. Must be a glitch in my software. Never mind.

We leave UK on 27th for a weeks skiing then plan to make our way to meet up with the group to cross on 15th all being well.

Get the test done and if it's not back before you go get someone to post it to you
In France or Spain :)

Can't do that as the actual certificate is a stamped page in her passport. She had the blood test today, after an argument with the vets receptionist who insisted we didn't Need this done. I phoned Defra who confirmed everything that has been said on here. They also gave me the contact numbers for the lab that do the test, rang them and they are going to put a rush on it. As long as the count/score is ok we should get it back in time.

Phew!

Just purchased and had delivered a Gelert stove.

Added with a length of gas hose and we can use local gas to cook / boil kettle etc and save our Gaslow gas for the fridge. This was a lessen a few of the fellow funsters learnt last year after the gas caused problems with the burners. For those that don't know there is very little chance of getting Refillable bottles recharged (I did use Mustafa in Agadir last year) but the local gas is exceptionally cheap.

Intend to have the unit in the van on the worktop with hose out of the window to the bottle outside. This is what Carol & Eddie did last time.

I wanted something I could use inside so that we could have our morning cuppa without getting fully dressed. Not great to see first thing in the morning lol

My understanding from previous posts is you will not be able to refill Gaslow bottles in Moroc. However, you can feed gas into the system via a French bottle and Gaslow connector to your external fill point.
