MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Not shortage of builders on the Emerald Isle
To be sure to be sure.... lol
I've nae doubt but there would be a lot of head scratching, sucking of teeth then crazy quotes given to the immigrant Scot lol

I would love that. So much land also. Live in motorhome while rebuilding. 👍
oh hang on a minute… where’s the nearest pub for a pint of Black medicine. 🤪

Never mind living in the motorhome while rebuilding. If it can rent out aswell as uncle Paul says I'll live in the motorhome on the land and rent out the house to tourists lol.

Pics of the day . We've moved to kalamata today. Just one night, will stock up on some supplies from lidl tomorrow before heading down the mani peninsula, probably stop at kardymili tomorrow.

I heard back from the estate agent here today and he says he has several properties like that house I liked and if I went in to the office he could take me to view them. But I don't see the point as just now I don't think it's possible to buy anything here. ....who knows maybe in the future .

Weather looks good, what's the temp?

There do seem to be some really good grants available in Ireland, for fixing up derelict/unoccupied property, either as main residence or to let out, up to 50,000 euros and loads more for insulation and heatsource pumps, solar etc.

It's taken me a while to get my head around the fact I'm no longer tied to my current location, of the last 48 years, since covid and a change of employer, through TUPE, I've been made an official home worker, I've not even been told the address of a physical office if I had to go to it, and it's been 15 months now! I worked on the same site for around 35 years and now worked from home since Covid.

I'd been looking at relocating to Norfolk as it's so cheap (within 10 miles of a Tesla Super Charger) , I could have the house I want and pocket enough to buy a used Tesla model S, with transferable free Super Charging for life so I would have no petrol/diesel costs, use some more for solar and batteries to limit future energy costs.

Now, looking at properties in Ireland, and checking the Tesla Supercharger map, that is also a possibility with the added benefit of eventual EU passport!

Aye its amazing how we get tied to an area and find it hard to leave. I always returned home ...but its not home anymore not really and its just familiarity.

That cottage has better details on this site

And a plan showing the bit land it sits in .

I don't know what a hectare is lol but looking at the bit land in comparison to the house it's a good size. Plenty room for a motorhome or two.

I'd be very interested in that if it could be got cheaper and grants were available etc.. I'd still have to escape for winters but ...couple of real fires or Woodburners in there it could be quite cosy. Like the idea of a detached house too.

But I'm no builder lol.

Without wishing to upset all the builders on here, most of it is common sense and a bit of research.
A hectare is about 2.5 acres.

Now you are going to ask how big is an acre 😂 😂
A acre is 4000m2 or 0.4 hectares.
Aye give me it in like van sizes so how many 8 metre campers length and width wise lol

Square root of 4000 is a little over 63, so 63m x 63m I recon = quite a lot, even more if they are all French 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

A hectare is 10.000 m2 so very sizeable 👍
