MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

That lab looks like my Turkish Street dog, apart from the fact mines a female!
Thank you for posting that stop, we are off in Late March to Turkey so keep posting so I can piggy back.
It's hard to tell from the pics but that dug is about 3 times the Size of a lab lol its back is nearly level with my waist. Big dogs ...think they're Greek sheperds , you see loads of them here.

I'm sure we will agree that Tams manner and approach earned him some quick attention at garages. I don't mean his threatening stance; his politeness and mildness does the trick. Just don't upset the buxxer ha ha
I think they've just thought. This guys stuck let's take the piss lol

Don’t want to worry you but somebody’s nicked your scooter off the rack🤣

Yes but I’m vertically challenge!
This is her, how could somebody dump her?
Married 48 years, never had a dog. We had no idea but couldn’t leave her when she adopted us!

That's not bad . It was about £1.62 when I left.

I got it at €1.59 today
Was £1.56 here in south Wales last week then dropped to £1.52 on Thursday. A few places £1.46 / £1.47 today.
E1.59 is around £1.38 I think that’s a lot better.

it always amazed me how our old Spaniel always knew his way from our parking spot to town, shortly after we had parked up.
Reminds me of my dog Alf.In 2019 I was going straight to my nephews. Stopped at asda about 800m down the road. filled with diesel & parked to take Alf for a walk. He did no more than dragged me across the crossing & all the way to the nephews. Knocked on the door & he said " never heard you pull up?" " where's the van ? " Left Alf there & then I had to walk all the way back to collect the van.Just amazed how he knew where he was & was fed up driving so went to their house
£1.46 a ltr of diesel here at moment which is 10p down on the last week.
we're at 1,35€ at present.

Put €30 in today diesel was €139.5. 😎

Glad your up and running again Tam, these things happen and it doesn't matter if it's old or new, 😉 the only difference is old you can fix, new most of the time you can't. 😁

We was going to change our 2002 corsa this year, had it 5 years and spent very little on it, we leave it in a friends garage for 5 or 6 months, put the battery lead On and off she goes, round the car wash and straight through the itv (mot) so thought keep the car and put a new kitchen in. :Eeek: €€€€€€€€€€€€€ 😯
And apart from the electrician and having the granite work tops made we are doing it ourselves 😂 eye watering. 😁 Bob

Not saying that the Scots are tight Tam.... but.... my Scottish mate came into the pub the other day and said he had found an unopened wage packet. I said blimey mate your a lucky sod!
LUCKY he spluttered LUCKY............................. Look how much tax the've stopped me....

Aye its all the other stuff you've to put up with in Morocco though sadly. I can't say it's somewhere I'm desperate to return to.
I suppose it's ok if you can afford to stay in a 5 star all inclusive resort where you are taken to all the safe touristy stuff by taxi:giggle:(y)

What did you find difficult ?
A few things.

The sheer amount of stray , injured animals not just dogs, and how the local people treated them.

The amount of rubbish everywhere.

The people, I didn't find them to be particularly friendly , instead many were only interested in either begging from you or trying to sell you something , there were if course exceptions I did meet some who were just wanting to spend time chatting etc with you. But because there were many who weren't like that you did tend to have a guard up all the time. By the time I left Morocco I trusted very few of the local people.

The poverty , and the vast difference between those who had and those who had not. Some of the towns had Miles of shacks made out of old junk and plastic ,and on the other hand there were huge mansions and lots of flash motors.

And the police , they were a pest , every roundabout had police, checks going in and out of every town, sometimes when parked up they'd appear and try to move you " for your safety "

There were nice places I found in Morocco but I felt they were far outnumbered by the not so nice places. I

Lots of people love Morocco, but I found it quite hard. I will probably return someday and give it another chance but not sure yet when that will be. I couldn't do it 2 years in a row

Watch the Durrels. Great feel, good factor and set in Corfu.

Tam just don’t go to India! It is extremely sad - considering we were living in Qatar so knew differences between rich and poor but India was on another level. I wasn’t on holiday I went for work for a week in Bombay as it was then but ended up having to take my two girls - the company promised to look after them whilst I worked - but they were very upset about the state of kids maimed by parents to beg - horses painfully thin pulling tourists!!! So don’t go there please

It’s probably why Duncan refused to go to Morocco in the Motorhome, we had lived with it for 15 years.

It’s not everyone’s taste to see poverty in the raw

Yes Africa is definitely a very different culture. I've never been in the Moho, but had thought I might at some point.

Hope Milo's feeling better

Anyway I went to the wee beach near igoumenitsa and had my lunch there and a chat with Petra and Norbert the Germans....I think they were going to go to corfu for a few days. They're a nice enough couple but when they started saying stuff like the covid vaccine could have caused my mums cancer I though it was time for me to head off. I dinnae need that in my head just now. So I drove 2 hours to Koronisia, the little peninsula that goes out in to the Ambracian gulf , I was here before and thought it was a nice little place. And the dogs met their first pair of strays , 2 huge Greek sheperds who are a pair of sweethearts, milo still feeling poorly which actually made him better behaved with the strays....no barking and running at them . It would be good if he'd behave like that all the time with other dogs but it won't last. Ela rolled in something fishy and had me boaking trying to clean her. She's lucky I'm letting her in the van the smelly cow.

Going to make some bolognese for tea .

A wee bit late but is the wonky loo still at Koronisia?
I managed to empty my toilet there back in 2017, a proper loo with a view. :giggle:
