MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Looking at them photos of the hubs,it’s no surprise it was making a racket. Hope you get it sorted tomorrow. 👍
Yeah .. I've had a rumbling from the rear for a while. I just put it down to age of the van , rear wheel drives are famous for diff noises or propshaft etc. Plus it's so hard to identify noise from the rear on this van as the engine is so noisy. Having had no mention of bearings etc on mot and feeling no play in it myself when I had the wheel jacked up I just thought it was a broken spring on the shoes. I had planned to have the new shoes fitted and the bearing checked properly on that side anyway once down in Turkey. It was one of the jobs on my list as like I said I don't have the tools to strip that hub down myself and knowing one side had been done and the other not checked I wanted it done for peace of mind . But nows as good a time as any. Hopefully it should be nice and quiet at the back now.

I cant believe the asking price for those wheel bearings over 300eu for the Iveco one, 164eu for the cheapest, thats shocking price for a wheel bearing, but it is what it is I guess.
I hope they get the correct one 1st time, as I think the garage in Scotland didnt, and you ended up getting it for them?
Maybe you have the Part Number to hand Tam, just to check.
I would be dying to get a paint brush & some de-greaser all over that stub axel and hub, its in a right state.
I bet if you were at home Tam, you would want to paint those wheels also while they were off for a day or two, quick rub down and a coat of Hammerite would make em look new again.

Yeah, we had a couple of frosty mornings but normal service has resumed now, almost double figures!
But it's peeing down, just like Scotland. Since we got back from Germany at the end of October we have only had 4 or 5 dry days must be the worst consistent rain we have had for over 30 years.

Apart from the avatar pic here she is sat waiting to go out in the rain🥰🥰

Southern dogs have a lot more sense, Lilly (a springer) is here with my daughter, she took one look outside and refused to go out. She would rather sit here with crossed legs all day than go out in the rain, very sensible.

Yes he had photos of the bearing on the screen and it looks the correct one.

The prices are crazy but no choice unfortunately and hopefully its not a part that needs changing often.

And yes I'd love to give the wheels a clean up and paint , I will do all the wheels and hubs at somepoint . I'd like the whole underside cleaned up and painted . Maybe in Turkey

Mine don't like the rain either. Yet they will go in the sea , rivers and puddles. It makes no sense

Well jade is back to her usual bossy self and seems to have made a full recovery. Milo is also not as bad as jade was ,they've all just had a walk where we encountered a pack of stray dogs and they've all had a good bark ...my dad's bigger than your dad type stuff. He's a little quiet but I'll keep an eye on him and see how they are . If need be I will take them to be checked out , but none are keen on visiting the vet , jade is the worst so if they don't need to go that's better for them and me. I don't like seeing them out of character but I think sometimes they just feel a bit off like we do .
Do.you think they are picking up on your stress. As your stress levels go down they will settle to their usual selves

This is the couple I met on the ferry from Germany yesterday's camper. They also have an iveco but its 2002 so mk3 model and a liaka.

Petra and Norbert music, they seem nice if a few crazy political ideas lol. They are very anti vaccine , even the dog doesn't get its vaccines which must make travelling to some places difficult. But otherwise they seem nice folk , she came up to visit me on deck several times yesterday to chat and see the dogs.

They have found a nice spot on a beach just 10 minutes from here

Maybe I'll see them a few times on this trip , it's their first time back in Greece for 30 years.

I don't think so , I think they just feel a bit poorly

Milo has just been up for cuddles and his tummy is making lots of noises. The kind we usually get before a dose of the runs .. his tummy also feels a bit tender and when you lift him he gives the odd squeak exactly like jade did so I think they've had upset tummies a bit of constipation maybe and cramps. His tummy is farting and squelching away. So it's most likely something they've eaten . Ela at the minute shows no sign of it. None of them have had the runs recently though and I pray they don't as its never bloody pleasant in a camper.

I recognise that beach looks like the one where the Police moved us on, just north of Igoumenitsa.

Yes that's the one. The frenchies I met here last time had also been moved on from that beach and that's why they turned up at midnight in that little bay at syvota. You can't stay overnight at syvota now either sadly. But to be honest I think I'm probably going to head to the peloponnese fairly quickly maybe take 4 or 5 days to get down there at most as I like it Down there. Then I'll hopefully park up for a few days at elia beach again where I found ela.

And just relax for a bit. Maybe do a few of the other jobs I want to do on the camper.

I need to fix this mirror I damaged too

It's actually made it easier to see out of now but it's loose so I'm going to make up an aluminium plate and rivet it in place to secure the mirror in that position then I will reseal that join and I'll repaint both mirrors as they've been painted badly before.

The problem with that beach is there is a campsite at the end of the bay. Pretty much an unwritten rule in Greece park up within a ½ mile of a campsite it's a fair chance you will get moved on.

Yes , not sure if the campsite is open at this time of year . But will no doubt here from that couple if they're moved on

If you can get it one Buscopan tablet should help Milo feel better.
Iur JRT had tummy troubles, (never got diagnosed) and Vet suggested a Buscopan tablet as & when her tummy started gurgling and she always took to her bed and cuddled.

All our dogs are the same. If its raining they baulk at going out. However, once they are out they don't mind it all all.

Must be a natural reaction. When I did a bit of running. If t was raining I would find it hard to get motivated to go out. Once out I was always fine and didn't mind the rain at all.

It’ll be interesting if Ela meets up with some old friends…🙂
Yes it will be interesting to see if the shepherd dogs she was hanging out with are still there. I'm kinda anxious about whether or not she will want to stay with them or not ....maybe she preferred the life she had being free .

The dodgy recall might take a step back ?
Well it's still not perfect ....but its a lot lot better than it was. I have to trust her to come back .
