MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

That was a very long crossing ....and not the most comfortable but we made do. It was fine till the sun went down then it got a little chilly.

Got off boat around 11.50pm Greek time . Now parked up at a parking spot just near the garage with a German couple I met on the boat . Bedtime as I'm knackered. See you in the morning.

Well jade was on good form yesterday and this morning it's like she's made a full recovery .. unfortunately now milo is showing exactly the same symptoms ,tail tucked , sleepy etc . The only difference is he just wants to cuddle in so im suspecting it may have been a bug jade has had and now milo has it .

Poor wee lamb

But to be honest none of them look overly enthusiastic this morning lol. I think they all wanted a long lie.

But I have to go see the garage and get this brake looked at . Hopefully they can squeeze me in today.

I'll update later.

I have managed to find the garage after going up and down the street 4 times 🤣🤣 it is not where Google says it is but after asking at 2 other places I've got here. So he's going to have a look in a little while . I also need new wiper blades can't see shit this morning and my van is covered in salt

It's proper warm here I'm toasting . This is a very busy garage so we may be some time. He's put a jack under it so far but that's it lol . But the place has very good reviews , many from other travellers so will just have to be patient.

I think the dogs are enjoying just sleeping with the sun belting through window.

Weather app says 16° here but it's way warmer . I'd say maybe 24/5° ... I may have to break out the shorts .

Well Tam after the previous sitting on the edge of my seat posts from you, I've just caught up to the beautiful photos of the pooches. Glad to see Jade has improved but poor Milo he looks soo sorry for himself. Good luck hope it all goes well today for you and the dogs, you are now in my favourite country. Unfortunately our long haul travels are on hold due to our old dog living back with us (too long a story) but he doesn't travel well. Once again good luck with everything as looking forward to some positive posts and happy photos (y)

It's also my favourite country. Milo is currently cuddled up with his big little sister I'm not sure what it is as neither of them have been sick or had runny poo , no sneezing, sticky eyes etc so it's not a cold or a normal type upset stomach but he's showing the exact symptoms jade was and she's now back to normal mostly. So hopefully he will be better in a few days too.

Hopefully the van will also feel better. And I can get on with my holiday

I would be surprised if you all caught a bit of a chill from yesterday's journey sitting out on deck all that time. I'm guessing that the dogs are just a bit tired. Didn't look very comfy for any of you.

Is Milo clever enough to play the jealousy card?
Saw all the extra fuss Jade was getting, and has decided to copy her?

He has the wheels , caliper and half shaft all stripped off now. One thing this is giving me a chance to do is check over my 9 year old tyres and I have to say they are in excellent condition. Not a single crack or damaged bit anywhere and the tread is like new. They're not camping tyres but continental vanco 2 commercial tyres . They have all matching dates of week 34 year 14 I know they're an item of debate but they look perfect to me.

This is where he may have a problem . It's a huge nut that holds the bearing in and the drum disc on this ... I think it's 63mm he's been out measuring it with a set of calipers so I'm getting the feeling it might be new to him. .....and the reason I couldn't repair this myself.

I'm hoping if he doesn't have one that he can borrow one from somewhere local.

I so wish the garage that fixed the other side had stripped this down and looked at it. I'm hoping it's not damaged the drum or the hub axle. It looks OK at the moment so again 🤞 . These guys seem to know their stuff. They do a lot of strip downs and repairs rather than just replace things. Proper mechanics. Their reviews are incredibly good .

There is one thing that comes out of this, how you can get things done the same day and yet these so called breakdown people can't get things done for weeks.
Makes you wonder if they are worth the money.
Not forgetting they have mechanics instead of panel jockeys that we get.

Why didn’t you get both done in Scotland ?
Because the bearing that was replaced wasn't replaced because it had failed only the oil seal had failed so the handbrake failed mot. It was only when they stripped it down that they discovered how it worked so it needed a new bearing and shoes. The garage had the van a week to do that and I only got it back in time to make the mot retest then I drove to uncle lennys the next day to do my electrics. The garage that did the repairs didn't look at the other side at all if they had this problem would have been avoided and would have been cheaper too as parts here are expensive.
