MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Right..

Do I start a new thread now on this vans restoration/awakening/recommissioning whatever you want to call it ....or just continue with this one?

Trying to start off on a positive mindset this morning
For me Tam, as I've not been able to follow this thread from the start, I'd be happy to see a new thread on the progress of your Flair.

Good luck getting things sorted out. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

We worked out our 3 way would probably come out of the drivers door, have to remove the drivers chair.
Worked on it inside the van eventually, needed new paste and some parts on the electrical side of things.
Recently the thermostat thingy on the gas side developed a hole so now I’ve found a temp setting the fridge likes, on gas, and it behaves remarkably well.
Fridge is too old to get new thermostat for it!

P.S. Yes new thread for the Flair.

We've no had any photies for a while so here's a few .

When you've done the jobs, if you can get it to where you like to park, you've got a great living space.

You'll be able to look back soon from a warm place in Spain (or Morocco).

Looks very nice, you knew that there would be a few issues, once it starts getting used they can be addressed one at a time, Rome wasn't built in a day!
Yes I did ...

I think as I just mentioned to someone else it's just a little overwhelming when you get all the issues people would Normally get with a van over 5 or 10 years of ownership all at the one time ... and it's trying to prioritise which ones are the most important etc.
And more faults/problems keep appearing ( I say as I look up and the main skylight inside cover is hanging off lol

I think the time is right Tam. 👍

Northernraider. Tam, my Welsh wifey Rita from the Swansea/Gorseinon area, is asking where you are in the photos above, ie, The Gower, or Penclawdd on the Loughor estuary possibly?

Enjoy. (y)

Jock. :)

P.S. Loughor Boating Club allow overnighting if using the club for eats and drinks. (y)

The Webasto thing looks like a pump, if you haven't found another little pump this could easily be the one for circulating the antifreeze to heat the engine block via the heat exchanger in the winter, it should come on with the "motor" button on the panel.

EDIT and I have short legs as well so modded my clutch pedal;)

That blue was one of the option colours Paul and it was/is good leather so will be original I am sure.
We were thinking of getting ours done in leather but when you look at a lot of it, it’s just that cheap looking leather or pretend stuff, it looks really tacky to me.

We had our old one done part leather, looked ok but the quality is not on to the Pilote leather we have now

Yes it does..we're fairly sure that's the pump for thst.

Yeah this is original and it's proper leather hide , my mum used to have a shop selling leather coats and bags so I was raised with it ...can spot the difference a mile off.

The downside is everything slides off it , throws , cushions even dogs lol . But easier to keep clean

First things first tam - if you are going to eat the proverbial elephant then you ain't going to do it in one sitting.
Start a new thread with a list of all the thing that needs doing and prioritising the things for a comfortable existence while you sort the rest.
Stop agitating yourself with the costs - it's got to be fixed whatever, else it's scrap. It's going to cost a bit to get it how you want it but it will be great when it's done.
It's great that you have Smithy's helping hands. Between the pair of you it's going to get sorted.
Best of luck.

Just a thought for the future, we have similar lounge setup in our Hymer and one of the first jobs we had done was have the table cut and hinged to give more space, I know you have loads already
IMG_0083.jpeg

Also did the scooter load easier in the Flair

Yes I was also thinking about that modification.

Scooter went in easy and is easily strapped in . Hasn't moved a mm since I put it in there and I've still room for a donkey

I'm not sure yet though as surprisingly my cab seats don't swivel in this van , and they're at a different level ...approx 1 foot lower than the rear seating .
