MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

She's so young. She hopefully will grow out of it with training and time. If she's high energy and intelligent though she could be difficult if not fulfilled. Friends of mine have a cocker she's 10 and she can be a real pain if not kept stimulated. She destroys sofa cushions still! She's not had the best training though.

Yes it might be down to her age ...I say she's thick at times and she is in someways as she's a goofball ....BUT she is clever and a fast learner with somethings. One on one she is better than the others at command's. Her recall unless distracted is brilliant. When distracted ie another dog or someone paying her attention it's not so good and we're working on that. She's very friendly and loves attention. She will sit, lie down, stay , wait till called etc . And she knows her left from her right ...giving a paw etc.

Admittedly though I don't get a chance to spend as much one on one time with her as I'd like. 4 is a bit of a handful I have to admit .. but I'm hoping like the others the first year is the hardest and by next year she'll have calmed down a lot.

The last dog I had at her age really was jade as she was 3 months when I got her , milo was 7 months and ela was 12-18 months

The difference of course was jade was an only child then and much smaller so easier to handle.

Blu is a lovely dog and I love her to bits , she drives me nuts now and then but I don't regret taking her . Like ela she will be a great dog in a bit of time.

Ela is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet .

We're now in vianden, parked up overlooking the big castle.
Spent a few days there last June. We really enjoyed it.
Are you staying there tonight?

I've liked Ela from first seeing her. They're all lovely though 💗
She's a big lovely girl ...I get some lovely cuddles from ela . She's very sweet and now she doesn't wander off its more relaxing with her. First 12 months with her were hard lol

This is on the motorhome parking area we're on tonight.

I think it is a Flintstone original 🤔

Love that truck .. it looks very much like one I saw in Greece a few years ago with a fresher paint job . I'm off to see if I can find the photo

Looks like it was a dustcart at one time?
Its amasing how most of these weird conversions are nearly always German, it must be something in their blood not to settle for the usual campervan, no ideally they need a truck, big as possible, even if it has a small hab box on top, its cool they think.

Its a German roadworks trailer mounted on the truck chassis

I hope Blu doesn’t get bored on the long ferry trip then
If she does she'll have Tam's leg to chew on ... ;)

Joking aside how do I stop her chewing.
There are many suggestions but none of them worked with our goldie who was 18 mths when I adopted him. He was very well trained in many ways but often chewed when I wasn't home even though he had company of other dog. I was single mum, money was tight & the final straw came when he chewed a chunk of a new carpet in the hall. I decided he had to go  took him for a last walk & watched both dogs playing in the field with tears streaming down my face. Of course I couldn't do it 😀
He eventually grew out of it and we had many very happy years with him. Miss him still, like all my dogs.
Sorry that's no use to you Tam but another trial of dog ownership. Not only will you be single until you die but your home will be wrecked too 🥴

The front seat arm isn't too bad, it's not that noticeable. The sofa arm is the worst because I'm not sure how I can sort that .
😂😂
I am sitting reading this in my daughter’s chair which I repaired after her dog chewed the arm. I just used wood filler and a little tinted wood oil. Now this was well over 10 years ago and it sits in the sun and the filler has faded differently to the arms but at first you couldn’t see the join.
I also repaired a 15 panel glass internal door that suffered the same fate. Used wood filler, sanded it down and painted whole door white.

Have you tried to keep her occupied with one of those toys you shove pate or something in? Or would the others be jealous? 😂

The others would be jealous ...they're a nightmare. Blu was even trying to eat jade and milos worming tablets lol

Nala was really bad with chewing as a pup - Yogi we got when he was 2 but he never has.
When she went for furniture we wiped it with Tabasco or lemon juice. Soon stopped.
She’s not totally good though - she’s ok during day but if we leave her in the evening she gets annoyed and steals letters or tissues, plastic recycling tubs and destroys them. Once a leather coaster too.

Well in one way I'm glad it's not just me as I'm first to admit my dogs are not the best trained etc . But on the other hand I do hope it's something I can fix because I'd hate to buy that other van that has a near minted interior and have her damage it. It's bad enough that if I buy it I won't see the upholstery again till I sell it lol as I've to cover everything in throws but I don't want the woodwork damaged

My little Patterdale came to me at 11 months old. I never left him for long periods but when he was on his own in the conservatory he chewed most of the arms on the rattan furniture. He is nearly 3 now and has stopped, so hopefully Blu will too Tam. I have put arm covers on the arms to hide the mess he made!!!

Gina.

Yeah surprisingly she hasn't done it when left alone ...it only seems to be when we are driving and its where she rests her head .. if she's on the passenger side she rests her head on that arm of the sofa or passenger seat . And if she's on the drivers side she rests her head on the table .. she doesn't chew everytime .. I mean that's only 4 times in 6 months.

He won't if he needs food, grocery prices are horrendous. 🤣
Diesel was cheap though €1.47 , pity I'd already filled up in Germany at €1.54 this morning . I'm now in Belgium just over the border .

Came to use a free service aire and it's filled with a fairground so can't access the services 🤷‍♂️. .. parked in a carpark round corner for the night. Will cross Belgium tomorrow.

Amazing that I crossed Luxembourg from border to border in just over an hour lol. Took longer to drive from Dunfermline to Glasgow 🤣

We went to Luxembourg they drive like maniacs on the main roads, crazy
After Turkey they're amateurs lol. Actually I can't say I encountered any bad drivers the drive through was quite pleasant. I like Luxembourg last time I visited , its a pretty wee country and spotlessly clean . Its a shame I didn't have more time on this occasion I'd have spent a few days exploring again .

Surely you're not going to a-frame it!
I'm hoping I can have him store it where it is for a few weeks. Give me time to get moby motd and the Jobs I need done on him sorted. Then I can advertise him for sale not worked out the finer details yet of where I'm going to keep him till sold but will see how I get on first . No point making a fixed plan before I see the other van .

I won't be repairing moby to the Same standard I would if I was keeping him . I'll be doing the Jobs that need done to smarten him up . Mot, floor, bathroom , new interior lights etc then it's up to new owner what they do next.

If for some reason I don't buy the other van I'll stick to my original plan for this one

Thinking about Blue chewing when you are travelling, perhaps she gets a bit anxious like a babe sucking it's thumb or someone biting their nails wonder if a travel pill would calm her down on the long trips.
At least she hasn't eaten your brand new mattress and then deposited it on what was left of it once it had passed through, friends dog who was also sneaky enough to get the parma ham off the melon and leave the cover over them intact 🤣

Yeah but surely she'd do it all the time. I mean we drive a lot .
