MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

The guy I used to use to transfer boats for me over the years was from Cornwall somewhere, he was fantastic he used to bring boats that I'd bought from all over Europe for me, did all the logistics, police escorts etc himself he had it all off to a tee, but never call him an English man! He used to go fecking mad if I said my boat haulier was English he used to say I'm not English I'm from Cornwall! Lol I never did really get it but it was important to him he even had it coach painted on his lorry his name address and then Cornwall on the bottom and in brackets (Not England!) So who knew eh....
The Cornish want devolution. I have Cornish son in laws and grandchildren but only lived off and on in Cornwall for about 50 years but they are fiercely CORNISH!

Because you keep on searching

That looks in great condition (y)
Yeah I guess that's because deep down I know this van I have isn't suitable for me longterm. If the situation had been different last year I'd have sold it again and bought something else. Its a good van and I can manage with it. BUT the bathroom and the bed is not something I can put up with forever..and there is zero privacy from the dogs.

Yeah it's just not that simple unfortunately. Nowhere to park 2 vans and there are jobs I'd have to fix on this one before I could sell it. The floor and bathroom needs attention.

he sounds like a dealer Tam, claims this is his own van but he may do a px if that would work for you as well 👍😉

Yes I saw that . But a dealer wouldn't give me back what I'd need for this van I'd rather sell it privately.

There's a few discrepancies in his listing though which makes me a little suspicious. It's a lovely looking van though with the layout I'm after.

That said I've just checked the mot history and it isn't the best. I think it's sat around a lot.

Ach I'll see if it's still for sale when I'm back in the country . Might have a look then. If its sold well I know there's other vans come up over time there's been quite a few I've liked this year.

I need to learn patience lol.

But for future reference that's the type of thing I'm after or at least that layout on a merc or iveco lhd chassis.

The next time I change it's for a longterm home

That would be a long-term home.

He obviously is a dealer but mostly in caravans, so it may be his personal vehicle. That might also explain the low mileage as he cannot get away from the business often.

We have the Arto of same period (2003) and the build quality still shows through after 21 years.

It is certainly a 'buy', subject to inspection.

Just find a way around your parking problem and go for it.

Aye but read his description, it seems he's confused on interior layout lol.

It's had quite a few advisories for corrosion and there's huge gaps in the mot history.

But i wouldn't make a move on it without viewing it anyway as look how the clou liner I nearly bought turned out after 2 guys from here viewing it for me..

It's a lovely interior in that van , 95% perfect for me which is about as good as it gets.

I've got it on my watchlist and will see if it's still available when I'm back in the UK.

Stop looking ?
I have saved searches lol.

And I can't help it lol.

It works out though as I've ended up buying a better scooter than the one I was going to buy and I saved enough money off it to pay for 1 years insurance and road tax 😁.

I'd not have found it if I'd stopped looking.

Looks lovely!
Aye the interior is fantastic.

One of the things I loved with my frankia was that rear bedroom and the bathroom you could close off. It's a very similar layout to the frankia but without the drop down front bed and the bar style front lounge .

Not sure what length it is though.

With N&B the numbers usually denote the length, e.g. our Arto 69 is 6.94m.

Ah cool so it is just over 7 metres .

Damm it lol ...it is ideal.

I'm speaking with the owner just now. He's only owned it since January and never used it. Mot history has it as being unused from 2012 to 2021 ... and having done very few miles since then.
Few advisories on mot regarding corrosion , which if it was only surface would not be a big issue.

But he knows very little about this van which is not a great thing.

But if the price was right I could be tempted.

Why does the universe keep tempting me 😅.

This is as near to perfect for me as you can get.

Just get it, you only live once😎, do an Ian , throw some tools in the back and do some work for expats in Spain and Portugal , forget about proper work, it’s overrated lol, certainly in your situation living full time in a mh with 4 dogs👍

Lol well I'm speaking to the owner but he's giving me flannel at the minute.

Right I've a question to ask and it doesn't mean I've bought anything or even that I definitely would but my biggest problem if I wanted to change my van is the period when I would have 2 vans and no fixed address to keep this one at while I advertised it for sale.

So I know it's a slim chance but does anyone on here who is down around the south ie below London have space that I could park and sell this camper from if I needed to ?

I know there's probably storage facilities etc but to be honest I need somewhere free to do it otherwise it just pushes the price up of me changing vans and I can't really afford to do that .

I've a few jobs to do on this before I could sell it if I wanted to.

I can't sell this one before buying another one as I'd be homeless but if I bought another then I'd hope to have this one sold with a month or so.

Trading this in I would never get anywhere near what it owes me and would make changing it not worth while.

Life used to be easy lol

You could bring it here but afraid it's not south, and you know it's a bit rough and there wouldn't be any insurance or anything.

Yeah I had thought of your place Charlie but wasn't sure you'd have the room.

But I'll keep that option in mind if you're OK with that just incase.

It's not right for you Tam ... :(

there's only one sofa so once the dogs were on it you'd end up in the dog bed on the floor!

To be honest most of the time the dogs lie in the cab. They like the front seats and the passenger footwell. Blue likes to lie on the floor in the back or on the sofa .. so plenty of space.

Few pics from yesterday. ... walk up to the castle , its under restoration so scaffolding everywhere. I decided just to stay here another night as to be honest I'm not that far from berkastel kues where we have the vets on Wednesday. But I'll move tomorrow again. Been cloudy today and there was a storm this morning but its still warm .
