MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Great idea Dutch 68 🙂 I love it! And it's something I would of also suggested although I know from experience that Tam doesn't have the greatest of sea legs, but I would love to see the pics of captain Tam & his Motley crew!
🚣‍♂️🐕🐶🐕🐶
That would be priceless 😂 hope he takes you up on your suggestion 👍
Surely it would be Captain Tam and his Muttely Crew😂

Tam bite the bullet and offer to help, he might know of places you could go 🤞 (y)
Not a chance. I can't be arsed with ignorant folk. Besides it looks like he's been here a while, probably not happy there's another van turned up.

In my experience there are very few places out there that someone hasn't put on park4night, especially in Greece. But I've also driven down tracks to beaches that weren't on park4night and discovered why they weren't because they're just not accessible.. too many low trees or big holes in the ground on many of them.

That was my plan anyway... but had hoped to spend at least a week on kefalonia
Sorry its not working out on Kefalonia Tam, it is what it is, don't think what you can't do and do what you can, get on the ferry 💪

Have a look in the far north, Fiskardo is how the rich and famous do it lol, nice for a stroll and plenty of quiet area’s up north,
Will be busy but Assos peninsula is very pretty, it’s tiny and a pain with a motorhome , but a good lunch spot on the tiny harbour👍

Sorry Dutch 68 but I think your missing the point. Tam does not want a lovely stroll with the rich, nor somewhere to have a drink and people watch and definitely somewhere that is a pain for a motorhome, he's looking for a quiet place for him and the pooches to have a chill out and spend a pieceful night 🤞

Got to drive through the rough before you find paradise, the island is for tourist beach lovers, is there not anywhere inland that might be better..? But unfortunately there won’t be water and perhaps hotter….🤔

Nah garry it's mostly all coast ...there's a dirty great mountain in the middle folk come here for the beaches ....but to be honest I'm not sure why. I think it's just years of hype. To be fair before I travelled mainland Greece I thought the islands were the best .. but they really aren't. Maybe the ones like santorini etc with the wee white houses etc. But zante , crete corfu and now kefalonia simply do not compete with the peloponnese, the beaches have been stoney, small and with lots of seaweed etc ... the villages don't hold much charm either. Nothing stands out as being nicer or more picturesque,

I've checked out every parking round the coast bar the ones I'd already read reviews that stated there was a charge or no overnight parking allowed . Looking ahead fiskardo is probably the next place I can stay overnight after this and that's where I get the ferry from to lefkada ... asos looks pretty and there's a venetian castle there ... but not sure I can even access it but parking there isn't great.

No lakes or rivers I can see really. There's a reason there's not a lot of camper vans here.

Looks pretty idyllic tbh Tam. Scotland’s unseasonably cold and dreich just now … blue skies look stunning.
Yeah it is lovely , there's no denying that. It's just harder to find quiet spots than it was on the mainland. Lovely for a week or 2 in a hotel though. If you just want to sunbathe.

This spot isn't too bad as it's a lot quieter and there's a wee beach round by the fishing boats no one goes to so I've had the dogs round there for a swim and paddle.

I think when you're spoiled by the peloponnese the islands don't seem quite so special.

What was that island that Michael Mosley died on. It looked a shite holiday destination just rocky hills and small beaches.

It’s info for future travels Tam, you’ll know and others will learn that it’s not so accommodating….
Aye , I'm not sure if zante would be better with a camper. It's probably the Same although I liked it on package holidays.

That said the shipwreck there is claimed to be one of the most photographed in the world but I have to say having been to the one at gythio it is far far better.

I honestly think a lot of the people who visit the Greek Islands would be blown away by how much the peloponnese has to offer.

I'm hoping I can get a few nice park ups around lefkada as its my last 2 weeks in Greece now for at least 18 months.

In comparison though my sister and bil are touring the North of Scotland just now in their motorhome, weather doesn't look great but all they do is eat lol ... their polarsteps is 80% food 🤣🤣

Another camper turned up now . Another Dutch one ... off to park right next to the other one lol

Daytrippers have all gone now , hopefully they don't turn up as early in the morning and I can have a swim and paddle with the dogs in the morning.

If that's a success I might stay another night here as its been the best of the bunch so far . There's a wee tavern on site for frappes ...but its been the most expensive one yet . Most have been €1.50 -2 ....they charge €3 .

I am not missing the point, I understand the need and desire for peace and quiet, that does however not mean that it wouldn’t be enjoyable to have an hours stroll through a pretty place with the dogs on a lead, both Assos and Fiskardo are places you don’t really want to miss when you are on the island, and when people make suggestions it is obviously to the OP to do whatever he likes …….🤷🏻‍♂️
