MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

To me it looks like something bigger than a mouse, have you been near some squirrels that have been coming and going?
I had a similar problem in my new house I’m building , thought I had mice but traps with chocolate caught nothing , it was hiding nuts in different places , so got a squirrel trap out , nuts disappeared but trap not tripped , I ended up getting a trail camera to see what it was , it was 2 mice , put peanut butter in the traps , both dead next day 😊

This story reminds me of yet another.
Right then Folks, altogether after 3.
A mouse lived in a Mobyvan in old Turkestan
A Mobyvan with a mouse in and he wasn't grousin'
He sang every morning, "How lucky I am
Living in a Mobyvan in old Turkestan !"
I saw a mouse!
(Where?)
There on the stair!
(Where on the stair?)
Right there!
A little mouse with clogs on
Well I declare!
Going clip-clippety-clop on the stair
Oh yeah!
This mouse he got lonesome, he took him a wife
A Mobyvan with mice in, it's hardly surprisin'
She sang every morning, "How lucky I am
Living in a Mobyvan in old Turkestan!"
I saw a mouse!
(Where?)
There on the stair!
(Where on the stair?)
Right there!
A little mouse with clogs on
Well I declare!
Going clip-clippety-clop on the stair
Oh yeah!
First they had triplets and then they had quin's
A Mobyvan with quin's in, and triplets and twins in
They sang every morning, "How lucky we are
Living in a Mobyvan in old Turkestan, ya!"
I saw a mouse!
(Where?)
There on the stair!
(Where on the stair?)
Right there!
A little mouse with clogs on
Well I declare!
Going clip-clippety-clop on the stair
Oh yeah!
The daughters got married and so did the sons
The Mobyvan had christenin's when no one was listenin'
They all sang in chorus, "How lucky we am
Living in an abandoned Mobyvan in old Turkestan!"
I saw a mouse!
(Where?)
There on the stair!
(Where on the stair?)
Right there!
A little mouse with clogs on
Well I declare!

Oh yeah!

There's nobody there now but a whole lot of mice
Oh yeah!
Ye all Have Fun in the sun now!.

Little tinker got a little too brave V the air rifle whilst stealing from the bird feeder , next job was eradicating its kith n kin !
I won !

I remember walking into my office one day and saying Guys I have mice in my house when one of them chanted "there's a moose loose about this hoose" and I burst into tears as I was so distressed by the mess they had made. I felt so guilty at making him feel so bad though.

I have an air rifle and was tempted to use it today with all the crows stealing food from the bird feeders and scaring the small birds from feeding from them:madder:

Careful Gina , I believe that no birds are nowadays classed as vermin .
I have loads of plump breasted wood pigeons fornicating in my garden ( and I love the taste of their meat ) but unless via ? DEFRA that they are causing huge financial loss to me I can’t cull them . Thankfully I’m a law abiding pigeon meat loving person 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Funny you should say that, I had a farmer fixing a fence for me once and an injured crow was walking around my field. It had lost part of its wing and the farmer took great pleasure in beating it to death. I was not impressed with him at all. But, I have wood pigeons who nest every year in my hedge and they don't bother me at all. I also had a dovecote with 6 doves and the sparrowhawk took them all out and a pond where the heron took all of my goldfish. I once found a farmer sitting in his range rover on the lane where I live, with a shotgun and I asked him what are you up to and he said he was going to shoot the heron that was stealing the fish from his pond:X3: I am all talk though I can't even kill a spider:X3:

I don't kill them, why?? who do we think we are to kill animals we don't like. Just catch them and release them away from your home and stop them from coming in by checking how they are getting in, that's what I did. In fact it was quite funny as I discovered the only way mice were getting in my house was by the door when a certain person was leaving the door open at night when he let the dogs out at night for their last wee:whistle2:

Tam, don't just buy one trap buy two. Mice always travel in pairs. Unlike humans they stick together whatever(y)

Can’t believe I sang it too. Sorry Tam I know it’s not funny but can’t believe the mess & dogs never picking up a scent. My old toy poodle would have gone crazy he caught a mouse in my kitchen that made it home whilst we were away . Nightmare in camper hope you get it sorted soon

You've clearly too much time on your hands .

So you can nip over and stand mouse guard when I go out with the dogs. I'm sure the bugger waits till we leave.

It might change the locks

I planned to buy 2 anyway , one for under the sink and one for under the seat base where my electrics are. That's where there were most droppings. They might well have left already but it won't do any harm to make sure

OK I now have 2 traps .... 20tl each which is about 45 pence. Metal ones which I've never seen before and quite big but hopefully they do the Job. Guy nearly lost his finger in the shop 🤣🤣
They need to be very sensitive for small mice Tam, we had a trap that got robbed every night then I realised it was a rat trap not a mouse trap. 🙄
Sorted the sensitivity out and next day Result! 👍

Tam, our Cat Bobby until recently used to bring in the house via the cat flap, mice & rats, drop them out his mouth and more or less say "look what I got ya" a few times the mice were still alive and would run arround the kitchen trying to hide. If they ran under the fridge freezer or such like he would sit there for days waiting for them to come out....even if I had already dispatched them:rolleyes:
Hell knows how but he even caught squirrels, and they are super fast, magpies & pigeons were easy meat for him also, used to see tell tell feathers all over the lawn.
So you see, You need a cat to snuggle in with the dogs.

Aye my cats brought me presents too , usually dead carcasses they'd leave on my seat or on the kitchen counter. One day I heard an almighty racket coming from the kitchen and when I went through garfield had backed through the catflap with a seagulls neck in his mouth and was giving it laldy trying to pull the body and wings through the cat flap ... the legs were going ten to tye dozen but he was skiting on the tiles.

He was a great hunter but a bloody pest for the wildlife ...brought frogs and all sorts in

Aye I'm sure these are for rats too but hopefully it works

I'll take a photo later

even caught squirrels
I think squirrels must be a bit dim as my previous two Rhodesian Ridgebacks caught 4 between them and they caught sod all else!
My theory is they try to get to THEIR Tree, not any old tree and given time a Ridgeback can build up a fair old pace, they also used to like racing the local race horses, bless them, they thought they were the mutts, but they didn't have someone sat on their back and weren't running on a sand/rubber mix :ROFLMAO: 😄

Can't remember the last pics I uploaded so if any are doubles apologies. The last couple of days . As usual met lots of strays ,everything from staffies to collies to mongrels, lots of puppies too. So much so I've used one of those 15kg bags already ...so vans a bit lighter lol. Spent 2 nights in dogunyurt which was nice and quiet and one night in cide which was very very noisy.

Picked up traps and some paracetamol and ibuprofen in dogunyurt, traps cost less than a quid for 2 , £2.33 for 20 paracetamol and 20 ibuprofen. Haven't taken any as the cold is almost gone now thankfully, just the occasional cough here and there , should be back to normal in a day or two. I've been in a can't be arsed mood the last few days and still am to be honest lol. Might just be down to the cold who knows. The last few days driving has been hard ..whilst the last 200km of coast road has been much more scenic its a hard drive, very steep very windy and very narrow ... quite a stressful drive hence it taking me 3 days to do it lol. Left cide this morning and stopped for lunch now in Bartin by the river. Might stay here tonight not decided yet.

So pics from the last 3 days

Glad you’re feeling better Tam… but 😦 those traps look fierce!!! 🐭
