We went half way to portofino but signs said maximum width 2.2m so I couldn't go any further. The few parking spots on that route were not the best. We looked at 2 then decided against it. The pics I posted was from where we had stoppedSeas looking good for a dip !
Did you not fancy a visit to Portofino ?
I often find that is a scare tactic, but off course ignoring them comes with risks.but signs said maximum width 2.2m
Yeah sometimes I ignore them but the drivers are nuts in this bloody country and the scooter drivers are worse. So I wasn't taking any chances.I often find that is a scare tactic, but off course ignoring them comes with risks.
Aye they're needed in most places now but I have a set of chains with me.Think you need to get to the east coast as more free sostas and less busy but we saw that snow chains or tyres are needed from November till march across the centre.

My least favourite country to drive or find somewhere to stop. Shame as it is beautiful in places.
Yeah I think we're going to drive through a bit of cinque terre today , we have 10 days to get to Barri for our ferry so not in too much of a rush , I'd just like to see some nice bits on route. Unfortunately I think most of the nice bits are impossible to get to with a motorhome or when you do pass there's nowhere to stop to have a look. That bit of coast and the 'cinque terre' towns are very scenic but the roads are a nightmare even the autostrada. Get down to Lucca and beyond.
Only way to make progress quickly is to pay the tolls.
Sorento and Amalfi coast worth a visit but motorhomes are banned from much of the coast road. Roads soooo slooow as well.
Yes,you need a driver so that you can sit and gaze out of the window as you glide serenely along the Italian highway. Shame dogs can’t drive……or can they? Maybe you could try that.Yeah I think we're going to drive through a bit of cinque terre today , we have 10 days to get to Barri for our ferry so not in too much of a rush , I'd just like to see some nice bits on route. I bet the locals are all wrapped up in heavy winter coats.Morning walkies along the beach. Its warm this morning I had to take off my jumper as I was perspiring

The not very nice to look at carpark was actually very quiet overnight. So it did the job , I'd like to find somewhere a bit nicer today but there's no guarantee.
It's a coast guard plane ...other than that I've no idea. Everything here is in Italian and unlike many other countries they don't provide an English translation so I've no idea what half the stuff is lol. Don't understand most of the road signs eitherTam, your post is an example of the reason I asked for captions, so that you could tell us if that aircraft is a Piaggio, which is my guess.
If you did not read the blurb on the post can you please go back and look for us?
