And once the greenery has grown will be a superb site for long term and exploring the real Spain...

Not that I'm volunteering, but it would be nice to know who is already there, the dates the rest are due to arrive and their travel arrangements.

As for us, we are sailing from Dover to Dunkirk next Sunday at 2200 hrs and anticipate arriving at Marjal on or around 5 March, but everything is flexible. We might even pay an extra £20 and leave a couple of days earlier. I know I'm a jessie, but I'm excited and a bit scared too.

Also Chris went to Aldi yesterday with somone who offered us alift from site, we bought a cheap box of wine (name,Bonus) 59cents red or white. we really enjoyed it. So if you go to Aldi put it on your list to try. get us 10 boxes of each please only joking ha! :thumb:

Well, a last minute decision but I have now booked for the rally and will be there from 5 to 25 March.

On the Portsmouth/Le Havre LD Lines ferry on Wednesday 29th Feb and plan to travel via Le Mans/Poitiers and the Somport Tunnel.

If anyone else is going that way on that date then please let me know if you would like to go in a convoy. I am "flying solo" this trip which will also be a first for me driving in Spain.

Any advice on campsites on the Spanish leg would be welcome as well.

We are booked on the Portsmouth to Santander ferry, departing Portsmouth on 1st March arriving Santander on 3rd March. It is a 2 night crossing due to a crew change at Roscoff on the first night. We intend to head for Aranjuez and spend 2 nights there, before heading to Marjal on the 5th March, hopefully arriving there early afternoon.

I know many of the Funsters at the Marjal meet will look forward with relish to the Country and Western Evening on the Saturday. I am sure they will have a great time and we will hear all about it after the event... :thumb:

As some Funsters already know I am not a fan of Country and Western music...

I am proposing an alternative event to run at the same time...

The "Watching Paint Dry" Fiesta.​

I hope (plan is not cast in stone yet) to have a stash of Super Bock minis (small bottles of Portuguese beer) outside the oldest Hymer 660 on the site, together with a sheet of second hand plywood, some paint and a brush.

After I have applied a coat of paint to the wood, Funsters who share my views on C&W are invited to join me for a beer and watch the paint dry...

In order to fulfil the PPPPP principle (Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance) I will need a rough idea of how many Funsters might be interested in this event...

Thanks for the "heads up" Stephen but the Funsters' Co-operative UK to Portugal Delivery Company will have me fully stocked on our arrival at Marjal... :thumb:

Maybe, even though I have not mentioned it before to any of the delivery drivers, there might be a supply of supermarket branded (and therefore reasonably priced) peanut butter... crunchy or smooth included in the orders... hard to find in my area of Portugal.
