So... what is wrong with me?

The Marjal Meet is going to cost me loads of money to get to and even more to park...

There will be loads of "other" (non Funster) people there who may well be "Reds"...:Angry:

At the weekend there will be hundreds of Country and Western fans milling about...oh:

The baleful, emotional, nonsense songs about blousey girlfriends leaving them and broken down pick up trucks will be played (some of the time) over the speaker systems...

And now I learn there will be a danger of hearing BBC 2 WALES coming from various vans...

...and still...

I am really, really, really looking forward to it....

I have spoken with the TV man and he said that with our antenna we can only reach BBC 2 Wales. According to him we would need an antenna twice the size of the one we have in order to get BBC 2 England

Good Morning Funsters and Steve (Salopian)...

All set up at the back of "C" Block.. (Billy no mates)... Marjal gave me 2 comfort pitches cos of size and we have got a drive through.... so no need to disconect my trailer....:thumb:

If any of you have an oyster with your sky box and card from back home,,,, You can get most if not all Sky programmes you subscribe to back home... (Except BBC1) but you can get that on the sites hook up... so we have every thing we get at home.. :thumb:

Any one want a brew or a drink pop in (C 228) Triple slide Trail-Lite... with a Devon and a sort of funny face flag up..:thumb:

I accepted Mo's invitation to a "brew" this morning, whilst admiring his admirable selection of gaudy flags and bunting (Think Navy and Fleet Inspection ) One immedietaly rang bells and whistles in my mind !!
"Mo" I said ," I did not realise that you were gay"......."You are flying the Gay Pride Flag, And mighty fine it looks fluttering there in the breeze"!
Talk about Last Post !!! His little feet didn't touch the ground as he rushed to pull the flag down ! I confirmed it later on Google for him....He was not impressed !!

We are definately getting normal BBC 1 and as you BBC Wales...

They seemed to have gone out of the way so that all nationality`s get a reasonable selection from their individual country`s...

May be worth a retune....... I know we had to... give it a try....

There was a good cookery programme on last night.... Had I of known I would have recorded it for you... :Tongue1:oh:

Update on Village, Catral.

For any others who may be wondering...The leccy is not being metered !:thumb:
There is an English bar in the village..3 course dish of the day for 5 Euros 50, Amstel 2 Euros a pint and around the corner from the bar is a small English run shop that sells stuff unobtainable elsewhere ! The shop here on the site is no use at all !!!

Sorry JJ, no FB pies, BUT, I am sure he will stock them if asked ! I will make enquiries for you !!

Another thought !! The wi-fi here is very intermittent !...The bar I just mentioned has free wi-fi !

Pitch conditions:

The price is per night. Check-in: 13:00h and Check-out: 12:00h.
50€ per pitch must be paid in advance / 100€ per pitch for long term stays.
All reservations are subjected to availability
Included in the price:
Water / Campsite amenities (swimming pool, entertainment,...), Wi-Fi.
Not included in the price:
Marjal Sport fitness & Spa. Electricity will be charged 0,35€/kwh
Bungalow conditions:

The price is per night and includes one parking place (one car) outside the bungalow. Check-in: 17:00h and Check-out: 12:00 h.
All reservations are subjected to availability. 25% from the total amount will be charged when making the reservation, the rest will be paid at the campsite on arrival.
Guests will be asked to leave 60€ on arrival as a deposit against possible damages caused to the bungalows inventory. This guarantee will be refunded on departure once the bungalow has been checked.
Pets are not allowed.
*100€ extra fee for New year's Eve.
Included in the price:

As far as I can make out and as "Salopian" has already said the Electric is not on a meter...

I understand that this may be in the pipe line at some future date, but at the moment "No"... :thumb:

Steve quoted a restaurant that I told him about. There are two English food restaurants that I have found in Catral including one which does a main dish of the day for two plus wine for a tenner. There are many supermarkets which cater for all tastes.
If you want the Spanish eating experience then go to San Felipe which is about the same distance. Harry's Bar has fabulous Spanish A la carte and Table d'hote food and around the corner from there is a tapas bar which gets crowded with the local farmers. In San Felipe is a bakers which sells salt bread and bread sticks to die for and across the square is a small supermarket which also has a traditional butcher within where all your needs can be found. The area is fabulous, you just have to get on your bike and find these places. When you first get here I guess you will think the same as all of us that have arrived, oh no it looks like a car park in the middle of nowhere. Please believe me it isn't, once you start to get around you find it is a fabulous Spanish experience. I am here another month and have already booked for three months next year.
I also answered the question about the electric by private mail to the original question. To make an announcement on a public website could be counter productive. Many people read this site including members of the Marjal staff. I feel sure that they are aware of the bonus we experience at the moment and will want to address the matter as soon as they can.

If you have transport, Around torrevieja are a lot of first class golf courses..

According to the attached write up there is one in or near Catral..

(Think Steve is having a few hours "Siesta":Cool:)
