Hi Raimon

I will try to make up maps of these from my exploring of the area that we can then offer to cyclists to use as there are some great route's around the camp site and out to local towns. I have heard there are Regional maps down to 1.120 that will show these roads hope to find one soon

Oo, hello? I'd be very interested. At the moment, I'm intending to bring my road bike (skinny tyres, etc), assuming that there will be tarmac roads around. I should do some research if I can. :Cool:

It's an interesting little place, even has one of those Chinese Bazaars that seem to sell everything that you never even needed until you saw it !! :Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

Raimon - while you're here, can you confirm that a tarmac road leads up to the campsite entrance? I want to know which bike to bring with us :Wink:

I've 'travelled' there with Google Streetview, but the Google car didn't come off the road to go over your bridge.

Do you happen to know of any road cycle routes in your area? Looking for anywhere from 20km - 60km :Cool:

So many questions. There is an excellent road from the Catral turnoff from the AP7 to the campsite. It is not clear on Google. The trip to Iceland which Raimon talks about is about 20 minutes away and can be achieved by back roads as an alternative to the route shown. Within walking distance of Iceland is a Lidle, a Mercadona and another Chinese bazaar which sells just about everything. The shops in Catral include an English supermarket, the Consom supermarket and loads of others. After one or two days you will feel at home. Oh, by the way, you do not need a bicycle to get to the loos.
John

Hi John

Thanks for that. I appreciate it.

I got as far as the attached Streetview image, but couldn't travel up the lane to get over the bridge to the campsite :Doh:

Where was the English Supermarket in Catral in relation to the Consum ! I agree about the bike and the Loos, but it does depend on where you are !!:Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

BTW.......Old Mo just arrived !!!!:Doh::Doh::Doh::Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

I can confirm that a tarmac road leads up to the entrance. But I recommend a mountain bike if you are going to cycle around. Cycling has become quite popular for Spaniards and there are many interesting routes, if you know where to go. Also many cycling lanes are to be built this year in the campsite's surroundings, the project aims to link all major towns in the Vega Baja by bike in the near future.

I´ll check with the TV man. :thumb:

Also, for your information, I´ll be every wednesday and thursday at Marjal Costa Blanca's reception from 9h to 14h for any complaints, suggestions or receiving presents :Wink:

Raimon

I have spoken with the TV man and he said that with our antenna we can only reach BBC 2 Wales. According to him we would need an antenna twice the size of the one we have in order to get BBC 2 England :Eek!:
