Lenny's Search for Winter Sun

Great White Egret and Red-crested Pochard Lenny, Eiders are a Northen marine duck and a rarity as far South as Yorkshire.
Jeepers @Lenny HB you even have birds named after you - well impressed!

A Redcrested Pochard Lenny

Apologies @Stewart J couldn't resist.

Thanks, local info boards had Eiders on them, but Pochard not mentioned, looked like the Eiders on the board but not like the ones in our books.
Been a keen birder since childhood Lenny so any queries ask away, envious of your trip we were due to travel to Spain later this month and travel to Tarifa for the migration but have had to defer our crossing due to an unexpected illness in the family. Safe travels.

Nice spot at Deltebre by the river for the night, avrrived too late to get a riverside pitch

Now if you were French you would have squeezed in there.....

Drove over to the north side of the delta, walked a few miles through the nature reserve.

Greater Egret.

@DBK not sure if they are Elder or could be a red crested pocard

Yes, look like Red Crested Pochard to me. Eider are seen in the Ebro Delta on migration but I think any still there will be thinking of going north now to breed if they haven't already left.

There are a couple of RB Pochard nearest the camera in this shot I took in the Tablas de Damiel last year with a shoveller furtherest away. A swallow photobombing too. :)

There's a list of birds found there on this page if you scan down.

Lenny found just the vehicle for your travels note the inscription on the bonnet.

Hopefully that’s wrapped and not painted, otherwise a very limited resale market

Think they would have difficulty selling that now, easy to find on site though.BUSBY:)
True according to gov site only done 7,106 miles and MOT expired Jan 2019.
Had a very lonely life....

Only just caught up ....I don't know what I find more appalling

You pair more than €2 for a bottle of wine or that last dinner bill .....I had to have a lie down.

Standing outside the van nattering this morning another Brit van pulls in winds down their window and shouts out "Lenny HB" blimey I can't even hide in Spain.

It was @namwaldog, we have just had a pleasant evening with Barry and Margret, nice meeting you.

@Lenny HB

Thanks for that, Mi & Lenny, we enjoyed it!

Thanks also for the tips on where to hide your Tonic's for the G & T.

PS. It's about time you indexed those photos for Mi.

Safe Trip.
Margaret & Barry

Gents, I too enjoy a bit of bird watching and would like to visit this place next time I'm in the vicinity
Can you be so kind as to give me the coordinates for the Aire/parking. Thanks in advance.

I like a bit of bird watching myself
Can't beat a nice slender leg in a pair of boots.

My poor wallet is going to take weeks to recover, poor thing is in total shock.

Yes I do. I can't find your photos of the Aires and how would I know which Aire?
Blimey Phil lack of beer is really affecting you.
Post #78, this one is right in the nature reserve, it's free of course but do arrive with full tanks as it would hurt you paying €3 to service.:ROFLMAO:

The one we are on at the moment is a couple of miles from a nature reserve ( another free spot) see post #116.
You can park up near the reserve during the day. Reserve runs from Rimuar down to the estuary.
