Nice stopover but a bit of a desert when it comes to restaurants, then just before we got back to the van saw this little restaurant didn't look much from outside but a gem inside nice family run restaurant.

And now for @Clarky & @Robert Clark and all the other foodies.

Was the wine okay as I stayed there last year and it was rotten plus no plastic cups.
Wine was actually very good. Although we saw the sign saying cups were available, we took a plastic water bottle and filled it up.
Your not supposed to take the wine away so we sat down near the fountain and drank it.

It was black pasta (I think squid ink) but no nasties just prawns & mussels, you should have seen the state of me after peeling the prawns and eating it. Black lips, fingers and black under my nails.
Tasted nice.

Moved on today to Parc Natural del Delta de L'Ebre, nice Camper Stop owned by the restaurant and it's free. Large marked out gravel pitches with a proper access road all free apart from €3 to service, no obligation to eat there.
When we arrived only ½doz cars in the carpark but the restaurant was rammed so the Motorhomes are doing there bit, we will eat there tomorrow.

Stick them in the fridge, whatever the colour is the best way. :)

It's a bit rural out there @Lenny HB.

Stopped there a couple of years ago after @Robert Clark recommended it. Surrounded by rice paddies (Paddys? Didn't notice many Oirish around) and birds.
Never did venture into the restaurant though.

Richard.

Absolutely rammed tonight, just had I think Spanish guy come between me and next van parked so close I could only just get my hands door open. I told home where to go and pointed out the pitch markings he sat there for 10 Min then moved off.(y)

With it this busy probably won't bother with the restaurant

Got woken up at the unearthly hour of 6:50am by an almighty bang, the whole van shook and resonated followed by small pops sounding like fireworks, didn't sound like shotguns but I don't really know what a shotgun sounds like.

A lot of spanish motorhomers say when parking, use the principal mother in law, you have to have her living close enough to give you a hand, but far enough away so they do not bother you. ( google translate )
The Italians must love the mother in law.

We have the Carnaval today and disco starts at midnight until the early hours it's the start of lent, and I would say happens all over Spain.

Plus it's the weekend and the Spanish will be out in force, ;) enjoy. :pop: Bob.

Ps just spotted where you are and it probably hunters killing anything that moves.

Crazy Spanish most that came in late last night gone by 10 this morning, filled up with another lot now and the carpark next door is full. Interesting although it's free a guardian comes round and has a go at anyone who is not in the allocated space i.e. wheels over the white line you get told off. Funny really keeps the Spanish & French in their place.

And for the foodies we ate in the restaurant very interesting.

Artichokes & mushroom salad.

Baby squid & octopus, with artichokes.

A close up.

IMG_20190302_165025-1024x768.jpg

Some crunchy fried veg with a fried egg chopped up & mixed in - very nice.

IMG_20190302_165911-1024x768.jpg

White fish, rice & something with artichokes of course.

IMG_20190302_171914-1024x768.jpg

Salted cod.
