Yes, on our farm, thrashing the. corn stacks was a winter job ( 'drum & tackle' made by Marshall) until the early 60's.I'm 69 and I can just remember the threshing machine coming to our farm powered by an old tractor at harvest

Donāt know about that as I just follow the SatNav, I know I couldnāt get the left turn down to the pitch from the road so had to go up to the train track crossing and turn aroundA seconder for this one but if I remember rightly if you are approaching from the west the road is a crit aire zone and nowhere near any town.

They just cover the meat with rubbish so you canāt see it is bad quality meat out of the freezer where it was stored since 1985 , you are right Lenny, British meat is a lot better on average, choice is poor in a lot of EU countries anyway, we are spoilt for choice hereIt's edible, just about but when you go out for a meal and have a choice of, Schnitzel, Schnitzel, Schnitzel, or Schnitzel covered in a tinned sauce it's a bit much.
Your not wrong, just had a nice roast, belly pork with apple sauce, melted in my mouth you wonāt get that anywhere else in the EUBritish meat is a lot better on average, choice is poor in a lot of EU countries anyway, we are spoilt for choice here
Is the food that bad in Germany, we were thinking of doing the black forest in the van ,but we do love going out for some good snapThey just cover the meat with rubbish so you canāt see it is bad quality meat out of the freezer where it was stored since 1985 , you are right Lenny, British meat is a lot better on average, choice is poor in a lot of EU countries anyway, we are spoilt for choice here
If you want a decent meal in Germany, I'd suggest Greek, Turkish or Italian. We lived there for years and a trip to the 'Greekie' was always our favourite. When I'm looking for sites on our travels through Germany we don't stay anywhere that doesn't have a Greek nearby! Is the food that bad in Germany, we were thinking of doing the black forest in the van ,but we do love going out for some good snap
Bratwurst for lunch Schinzel for dinner what more could you want.Is the food that bad in Germany, we were thinking of doing the black forest in the van ,but we do love going out for some good snap
Nah I have found some good ones over the years too , it is just very different from what we are used to, do read reviews before you book a restaurant, the Argentinian steak restaurants are quite good in Germany and in the better restaurants a nice mixed grill is OK, if you like an abundance of fine dining restaurants then the German country side will disappoint, a lot easier to find nice restaurants in Italy and Spain,Is the food that bad in Germany, we were thinking of doing the black forest in the van ,but we do love going out for some good snap
Are you going to transfer all that setup to the new van or just the bottles? The LHD we just sold had German gas fittings so I was still using German bottles, plus I had a UK one with an adaptor.Gas bottles changed this morning please I coughed up the ā¬21.50 to let then do it. He had a struggle getting the connections undone, they had been over tightened. Found the T piece hade a crack on the mating surface also the fittings on the newer bottles are a bit higher so he also fitted a an extra r/a fitting to connect to my inlet pipe that couldn't be moved and didn't charge for the fittings.
Got my gas levels about right one bottle empty the other one less than half full.
Went and filled up then stopped down the road and checked all the connections with my gas sniffer. All OK.

Last time we went to Rothenburg it was peeing down not impressed & too touristy for us, it's just on the route south so may stop and give it another go.We find Rothenburg ob der Tauber to be a bit 'over the top.' Much prefer DinkelsbĆ¼hl.
If you pass through NL or Belgium try Stoofvlees, itās slow cooked and delicious ,Your not wrong, just had a nice roast, belly pork with apple sauce, melted in my mouth you wonāt get that anywhere else in the EU
Just the bottles as the hoses will be 10 years old next year. Are you going to transfer all that setup to the new van or just the bottles? The LHD we just sold had German gas fittings so I was still using German bottles, plus I had a UK one with an adaptor.
That's sounds perfect as long as there is no poison in it (cucumber).Lenny HB if you do go to Rothenburg P2 do not have a feta salad at the Greek restaurant opposite, itās literally a slab of feta with a leaf on top
You learn something new every day! Thanks. I'm still debating about what to do on the new van (Adria Twin PVC) Might get an underslung to save space. Bottles on a PVC are not easy to get to. Our last one had a Webasto diesel heater, which we really liked and a small gas bottle for cooking. All refillables are German fittings.
A slab of feta? Delicious! I would leave the leaf on the side.Lenny HB if you do go to Rothenburg P2 do not have a feta salad at the Greek restaurant opposite, itās literally a slab of feta with a leaf on top
Trust me it was too muchA slab of feta? Delicious! I would leave the leaf on the side.
Did it say motorhomes or just have a picture of a lorry in red, normally has a time that you are not allowed to overtake.Saw a sign on the Autobahn today I've not seen before "No overtaking for Motorhomes over 7.5t".

Same here!I'm 69 and I can just remember the threshing machine coming to our farm powered by an old tractor at harvest
Old Nuffield I reckonSame here!
An old Nuffield would not be powerful enough to work the Drum and elevator or baler, it was usually a Field Marshall ( or pom-pom as it was known.)Old Nuffield I reckon
Iām sure you are right. My memory is from the mists of time! We lived later on a cereals & peas farm with an early combine harvester version that I āhelpedā on when 7 years old.An old Nuffield would not be powerful enough to work the Drum and elevator or baler, it was usually a Field Marshall ( or pom-pom as it was known.)
Go East young man.Last time we went to Rothenburg it was peeing down not impressed & too touristy for us, it's just on the route south so may stop and give it another go.
Might have catch up with you in France if I can persuade Mi to leave Germany.

There were a number of old Nuffields parked ip in the sheds
Well that's weirdThat's sounds perfect as long as there is no poison in it (cucumber).
