Lenny's off again Germany, then wherever

Funny how if Pineapple is on top of anything, it instantly becomes Hawaiian.:giggle:
I doubt whether they have even heard of a Schnitzel in Hawaii, let alone spell it!

Sad to hear about The Carthago not turning up Lenny, I don't wish you to explain the reasons why again, but I cannot find the link as to what went wrong, but being a nosey B it would be useful to know, but glad you have now made other arrangements by the sound of things.
Happy Travels

I will admit that the German pastries and cakes are very nice, their apple turnovers are delicious 🤤🤤🤤🤤
The only thing I liked about Germany was the beer and the partially fermented white wine I found at a vineyard which tasted like cider and was dirt cheap so Mr Gina M fully approved :giggle: (y)

I tried so many Mosel wines from The "Weinguts" even went up the hill for a lovely wine tasting evening at a vineyard in Neumagen Dhron owned by a lovely guy called Rudeka, he was 3rd generation owner in the family.
I generally disliked all the white Mosel wines, even The Rot Wines, as they although fragrant, sat on my stomach as were very acidic.
Having done a blindfold test of about 5/6 of Rudeka's wines, I only found one that was half way paletable to me at least, it was in an unlabeled tall green bottle, very slightly sparkling, when I told him of the six it was OK, he laughed out loud and told me, its unlabeled for a reason.
"I call this Rudeka's eFeffed up wine" apparently he wasn't happy with it so mixed it with two other wines to make it half paletable, finished fermenting it in the bottle and stuck a Champaign cork into it.:giggle:
Needless to say that having enjoyed his hospitality that evening, I felt obliged to buy a 6 bottle case to bring home.
Well that helped raise some charity monies at Raffles we entered for a couple of years.(y)

PS: I loved the draught Bitburger Beer, sank a few pints in the Zum Anchor Hotel in Neumagen Dhron

So what's wrong with German food?! 12 bucks for a plate full - barely get a starter for that in UK :giggle:
Myself and mate cycled from Munich to Hamburg a few years ago - we had some great Wild Boar, Rabbit and fish meals along the way. I’m particularly fond of how they do fried potatoes with a bit of bacon too. The Geranium Soup (yep you read it correctly) near Coburg was a bit flowery though and they can keep Leberwurst.

Strudel

But

Wait for the cream
Was talking about these, full of apple🤤🤤🤤🤤 I like Strudel also😋😋😋

Gas bottles changed this morning please I coughed up the €21.50 to let then do it. He had a struggle getting the connections undone, they had been over tightened. Found the T piece hade a crack on the mating surface also the fittings on the newer bottles are a bit higher so he also fitted a an extra r/a fitting to connect to my inlet pipe that couldn't be moved and didn't charge for the fittings.

Got my gas levels about right one bottle empty the other one less than half full.

Went and filled up then stopped down the road and checked all the connections with my gas sniffer. All OK.

Headed back north 60km to keep 'er indoors happy, I'll show you why later.

Now at Mörsdorf, found a nice spot on the end. A bit pricey Motorhomes €10 for 12 hours, Free 9pm to 7am, or €18 for 24 hours. Won't be up at that time so an expensive night but the money goes to a good cause, which I will tell you about later. Includes servicing and EHU, not bothered to plug in for one night.

Germans do, do some things right, eating lunch now I'm munching some pickled chillies filled with cream cheese. :p

We came here to see the Geierlay Bridge, 2nd longest rope suspension bridge in Germany 360m long, 100m high, built in 2015.
Parking charges are used for the maintainance of the bridge and it's free to use so happy with that.

Nice walk through the forest to get there.

On the way back the heavens opened a big thunderstorm, really heavy rain that hurt.
We can't remember the last time we got this wet, soaked right though to the skin, had to strip every item of clothing.
And now it's back to brilliant sunshine.

Now supping a beer, G&T to follow. :giggle:

The last time we got that wet was getting from the caravan to the car in Spain which is why we've now got a motor home.
