Is this as good as it seems? EU roaming included.

Global SIM arrived yesterday. Will stick it in and get it activated. No foreign trips for me till August but can see how it’s doing at home.

We’re on the village aire at Chasselay just SW of Grenoble and getting 5.87mb down and 6.86 up roaming on Free - measured at the Teltonika RUTX12 with ZNord VPN enabled. Everything is streaming fine and no buffering - 200gb data global SIM.

Has anyone used this?

Cheaper than Lebara and you get the full 200GB abroad?

Can I put it in my unlocked MiFi and crack on?
SMARTY plan I have is unlimited data, calls and texts plus tethering allowed for £20 per month. Works well abroad, 12GB limit for data, and runs on the 3 network. www.smarty.co.uk

Arrived in Salzburg 17mbs on firestick 6mbs on phone. Voda sim in phone getting 120mbs. Had noticed this the other day and raised it with RWG why such a big difference had a response within the hour to say it had been escalated. Contacted last night to ask me for current location and screen shots of phone and firestick readings from Wi-Fi router. Re contacted this evening asking would I work live with them and server in morning from current location to identify the issue of difference between my normal phone sim and data sim purchased through them. Getting plenty enough through data sim to run firestick/phone etc but if they can make it better happy days.
I take it this is a global sim

Hopped over into Italy at Cesana Torinese and now 6.44 down and 10.10 up on WINDTRE iONLINE. Same solid performance.

Now in Munich, parked up at Studententstadt park and ride (excellent stop by the way, 1.5€ per 24hrs parking, plenty of space, 3.70€ single ticket to City centre or 8.80€ one day travel card). Sim auto connected to O2.de but wasn't getting 4g, so manually connected to telkom.de and now back to fast 4g

Great feedback everyone (y) and thanks all, but I am sure it won't be just from me. ;)

Two on Tour. I got a reply to my email question from RWG support Paul, confirming your response from them. (y)

Hi Jock

Thanks for your email.

Yes you can move bundles at any time and upgrade and downgrade using the same SIM.

Best wishes

RWG Mobile Support Team
.

That's probably the way to go for me on the MiFi then, and an improvement on the offer from Popit Mobile. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I get a choice of several networks with my RWG mobile sim in the router, I just check speeds on them if it’s not very good on auto.
With using these sims in a router, the only thing i can’t do is check my allowance, other than checking usage on router. The app is next to useless really.

Although I'm not on RWG yet, I tend to use the ZTE router App/Dashboard for changing networks from auto to manual.
If not by an available App, it's usually available online, eg, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 or similar. Entering the routers username and password then brings up the dashboard.
Mine comes up as T Mobile, which the router must have been previously supplied by, or locked into. It's unlocked now though. ;)

Edited............ I forgot to say, I also set up my monthly data allowance using the ZTE App. I think the Hauwei App might allow you to do the same.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

In a tiny village in a national park in Spain 4500 ft up and actually getting a decent speed at last 36 mbs but my phone on the same network is getting 62 mbs.
I'm going to try swapping sim's over.

My mates just got back from Spain came home a week early because the weather was crap.
Weather's been great in portugal been here since early March had 3 cloudy days and 1 day rainy forcast is good for the coming summer.

Using a RWG 200gb Global sim in Turkey - all working okay on 4g with a choice of 4 networks. 👍
Can I ask do you have to pay extra to use in Turkyie or is it included in the £20 per month of i could do with one if these to use in our holiday home.

where on earth have you been ? We'd like to have seen some rain this autumn & winter.
La Manga, met people who stayed at Benicassim who also found it cooler this year. Agree no rain just cold wind.

Update:
Just swapped sims over got 68mbs from RWG sim in my phone, phone sim in mif got between 6 & 12 mbs.
Both set on same APN so it looks like it's my poxy Mifi. Will be replacing it with a Teltonika one when we get home.

For now I'll put the RWG sim in the second slot in my phone.

Yes I use 192.168.2.1 , the homepage for my router , to control setting and had forgot about the Huawei HI app, looks like it maybe easier to set and check usage on that.

Good luck with it. (y)

Currently in Parque Campismo Salgueiros just outside Porto. Getting 10mps.

But that's quite expensive for Europe. £20 for 12gb. This Lebara is £2.78 for 15GB for 3 months and then £6.95 thereafter. And £12 cashback!

You should be able to. I put a GiffGaff sim into our Avrex midi and it worked perfectly

Just arrived in Canada, currently Toronto, 200Gb Globalsim working fine in a huawei mifi unit, also have a payg sim in one of the phones this is also working fine. When we get back in a month or so will drop the global sim down to minimum and resurrect end of summer when we head of to parts unknown.

Had lost confidence with RWG after our experience in Germany, but the refund, explanation and everything now working has restored some confidence, so will probably be looking to move from Lebara to RWG on our return.

Türkiye is included in the purely data sim which is £28 monthly for 200gb. They call it their Global Sim.

There are only a few countries that the Global Sim won‘t work in such as Yemen and North Korea.

I don’t believe Turkyie is included in the £20 monthly phone/data sim as it cover just the EU.

Now parked up in a very rainy Salzburg, connected to Magenta-T, 39Mb, phone sim 200gb. So far so good, (plus texts and calls out back to UK). What's not to like with this package......

Looks like a great deal :)

Has anyone had a SIM delivered outside the UK?

I see options to select other countries but no surcharge is added. Emailed support last week but no reply.
